Cameron Robinson plans to announce his college decision on Friday
The recruiting process appears to be coming to an end for the nation's top prospect in the 2014 class.
On Friday in West Monroe, Cameron Robinson - a five-star and the No. 1 offensive tackle in the country - plans to announce his college choice, which has come down to a pair of SEC teams in LSU and Alabama.
"I'll be announcing what college I'll attend this Friday Aug 30th," Robinson posted on Twitter (@crobinson_68).
At 6-foot-5 and 330 pounds, Robinson is ranked as the No. 1 overall prospect by both 247Sports and the 247Composite, which equally weighs the rankings and ratings of major recruiting media outlets.
Robinson's timeline speaks volumes about his final pair of choices, which are the only two programs he has visited this offseason. He made a pair of visits to Tuscaloosa in April, then trekked to Baton Rouge in May. Robinson attended Alabama camp in June and LSU camp in July, and his final visit to either campus came when he was in Tuscaloosa for a scrimmage earlier this month.
Robinson's primary recruiter at LSU has been Greg Studrawa, followed by recruiting coordinator Frank Wilson. Alabama has had Billy Napier on Robinson for most of his recruitment, and new offensive line coach Mario Cristobal has stepped in this offseason as the secondary recruiter for the five-star prospect out of Louisiana.
