The Louisiana National Guard and Geaux247 have named Destrehan quarterback Donovan Isom and John Curtis cornerback Terrence Alexander South Louisiana Players of the Week for the first week of the high school football season.
Isom was near perfect on the night
Isom, a 6-foot-5, 230-pounder who is committed to Utah, led the Wildcats to a 54-22 win over West Jefferson. He was near perfect on the night by completing 13-of-14 for 258 yards and five touchdowns, and added another touchdown on the ground.
Isom is currently rated the No. 45 Pro-Style Quarterback in the country by 247Sports and is No. 52 in the 247Composite. But that ranking will climb with the way he has progressed from last season to now.
Alexander intercepted two passes and recorded six tackles in the Patriots’ 24-13 win over Bergen Catholic from Oradell, N.J.
247Sports rates the 5-foot-10, 180-pound Alexander the No. 32 cornerback in the country. He has offers from Ole Miss, Stanford, Tennessee, Arkansas, Ohio State, Georgia Tech, Northwestern, and many others.
The Louisiana National Guard and Geaux247 will name a winner each week on the offensive and defensive side of the ball and each winner will be recognized by that school’s local National Guard recruiter.
