LSU lands eighth grade quarterback

LSU made national headlines back in 2012 when Les Miles extended an offer to Dylan Moses the summer before his eighth grade year at Baton Rouge (La.) U-High.

LSU lands 8th grade QB Zadock Dinkelmann

Miles and offensive coordinator Cam Cameron have found another youngster they feel is deserving of an offer in eighth grade quarterback Zadock Dinkelmann from Somerset (Texas).

Dinkelmann's uncle, former BYU legend Ty Detmer, confirmed with 247Sports that Dinkelmann, who is part of the 2018 class, has committed to the Tigers.

The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Dinkelmann is the youngest known commitment for LSU since the age of the internet.

Sources on the LSU side say that Cameron has never seen an eighth grade quarterback with Dinkelmann's physical tools at this stage of his development. Cameron also likes the fact that Dinkelmann plays for head coach Sonny Detmer.

LSU is currently the only school with a commitment for 2017 in the 247Sports database as Moses committed to the Tigers on Sept. 22, 2013 – three games into his freshman season at U-High.

Now, Miles and his staff have gone a step further as LSU is the only school according to 247Sports to have at least one commitment for the next four classes – 2015 thru 2018.
