Milton and Guice win awards

The Louisiana National Guard and Geaux247 have named Silliman Institute defensive tackle Jozie Milton and Catholic of Baton Rouge running back Derrius Guice South Louisiana Players of the Week for the seventh week of the high school football season.

Jozie Milton forced three fumbles last week

Milton, a 6-foot-2, 285-pound junior, was in on 10 tackles – four for loss – and forced three fumbles in a 41-8 win over Wayne Academy (Miss.).

Sgt. 1st Class Mike Milton and the Louisiana National Guard want to congratulate Silliman Institute and their defensive tackle Milton for his defensive player of the week honor.

Guice (5-11, 195, Jr.) rushed for 236 yards and three touchdowns on 34 carries in a 38-22 win over Dutchtown.

Sergeant Mauricio Tabora and the Louisiana National Guard want to congratulate Catholic High and their running back Guice for his offensive player of the week honor.

The Louisiana National Guard and Geaux247 will name a winner each week on the offensive and defensive side of the ball and each winner will be recognized by that school’s local National Guard recruiter.
