Last Week: In three quarters of action, Rettig completed 15-of-23 passes for 232 yards and 6 TDs. He played only three quarters and led Cathedral to a 61-12 win over Banning.
This Week: Cathedral (2-0) travels to Pasadena (0-1) on Friday.
In Closing: On the year, Rettig has completed 33-of-66 passes for 497 yards and 10 TDs. He hasn’t thrown an interception yet, and his team is averaging 45 points a game and is undefeated heading into week three.
OT Ethan Pocic 6-7/280 Lemont (IL) Lemont HS

Last Week: Lemont rolled to a 42-0 win over Riverside-Brookfield, and Pocic recorded 14 knockdowns in only two quarters of action. He was pulled so some backups could get experience since the game was already decided.
This Week: Pocic and his squad travel to Eisenhower on Friday at 7 p.m.
In Closing: Lemont (2-0) has outscored its opponents by a combined score of 96-0 in two games.

In Closing: Smith was held in check last week but look for a breakout performance against Washington-Marion as defenses begin to focus heavily on 2014 wide receiver Trey Quinn.

ATH Tre’Davious White 5-10/170 Shreveport (LA) Green Oaks HS

Last Week: White rushed for 54 yards on 17 carries, and passed for 172 yards in a 37-12 loss to Captain Shreve. He played a part in both of Green Oaks’ touchdowns with a 4-yard TD run and a 25-yard scoring toss.
Defensively, White was credited with two tackles and he broke up one pass as Captain Shreve did not test his side of the field much.
This Week: Green Oaks hosts Fair Park Thursday at 7 p.m.
In Closing: White will not get tested much on defense, which is his future home at LSU. He will match up with one of the state’s top 2013 sleepers this week in Fair Park’s versatile playmaker Savion Brown.
OG Josh Boutte 6-4/305 New Iberia (LA) Westgate HS

Last Week: Herron logged four tackles, a sack, and forced a fumble, but Memphis Central lost to Memphis East, 36-6.

In Closing: With this week’s loss, Central dropped to 2-1 on the year. In three games, Herron has 16 tackles and five sacks. He has forced two fumbles and recovered two with one going for a 65-yard touchdown.
WR John Diarse 6-0/205 Monroe (LA) Neville HS

In Closing: Diarse isn’t slated to get much action at receiver or safety this year. LSU is currently talking to him more about playing on offense when he gets to Baton Rouge.
ILB Melvin Jones 6-3/260 Lake Charles (LA) Washington Marion HS

Last Week: From his quarterback spot, Jones rushed for 253 yards and 3 TDs on just 11 carries in leading his team to a 34-12 win over Peabody. He scored on runs of 2, 43 and 80 yards, and also tossed a 28-yard touchdown on his only pass attempt of the game.
This Week: Washington-Marion travels to Barbe for a 7 p.m. kickoff on Friday.
In Closing: No defensive stats were available when this article was published. Jones has reportedly dropped his weight down to 260 pounds after weighing 270 at LSU in July.

In Closing: Robinson will see more time on offense this season, in addition to his regular duties in the secondary. Expect him to put up some nice numbers on that side of the ball.

This Week: Marietta (1-1) is off this week but returns to action on Sept. 14 when they travel to Hillgrove.
In Closing: Jennings has completed 35-of-49 passes for 436 yards in the first two games. He’s tossed 3 TDs and 1 INT, and has rushed for 128 yards and 2 scores on 23 carries.
