No other football game on the schedule for Saturday, or Sunday, will draw as much attention as the showdown between LSU and Alabama on Saturday night in Tiger Stadium.

    • Haven't predicted anything on any boards or IRL. I do think themat it's going to e much closer than this 8 point spread.

    • I see it the same way a close game that will turn on key turnover & what you do with it. Redzone play has to be better for tigers to win.Coming in from Austin & cant wait to start tailgating for a great day in DEATH VALLEY.GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • I hope and believe that Stud and Krag have been playing not to lose all season with the belief that LSU was good enough to win without taking risk. This week however they will have to resort to taking some chances in the passing game and exploit missmatches in the middle of the field. Its obvious Les or someone has instructed the offense to avoid throws in the middle of the field and make the easy sure throw to the edge. However that forces Zack to be perfect and always throw to double coverage with only 2 recivers in the route and both safetys not having to make a decision. I see screens and playaction to the tight ends early to open up the run game and then we hit a couple big plays down field like we did in Florida late, only no fumble this time.

    • Key to an LSU victory will come down to if the offense can run more than 3 plays a series and sustain drives. If we can get any turnovers we must score 7 instead of 3 or failing to score.

Mett needs to be aware of the backside blitzes, get the ball out quick and connect on those down field passes to back the LB and DB's off the line. Running the same predictable offense of handing off up the middle or off tackle will NOT work.

PA or screens to running backs or quick passes to the TE. Anything but those hand offs over and over.

I hope for a LSU win, but it will take a great team effort and some inventive offensive scheme.

Defense can't be on the field for 60-70% of the game.

If LSU keeps it close the crowd will help inspire the team and maybe cause some false starts, make check offs harder to communicate.

    • I think our Def contains them for most of the game. I think they will score a late TD with minutes left to play to make the score worse than it really is. The problem will be that our Off will not be able to do much like it hasn't the past 5 to 6 SEC games we have played. FINAL SCORE:
      LSU 6 BAMA 20

      F_ _ _ that....LSU 17 BAMA 14!!!!!!

    • Its pretty usual for a Nick Saban coached team to play flat in at least one game a year. Hopefully this will be that game for Bama. I said this score on another board I'm going to give the same prediction. Alabama dosen't play its "A" game this week, and LSU wins 24-10.

    • I was wondering how much of the play calling Mett is allowed to do at the line of scrimmage, are they allowing him to change the plays up or is Les wanting him to audible into one play if the defense shows a certain look. I remember last year he would audible on his own and I'm not sure if Les like it too much. However, I think we must utilize more play action passes with more then 1 wide receiver. Let Landry run the crossing route in the middle, but by no means will we abandon the run game. Also when Ford is in the game, I think Saban will auto assume its an outside run call, we can't be predictable on those plays and must change it up. With Les's history of predictability and lean on me defense I hope this will not be the case. It doesn't matter if Bama hasn't played anyone this year, they have executed the majority of the plays that they have called, on the other hand, when we have played lesser competition we have had a hard time executing some of the plays called. I think LSU will pull it out but it will be a close game with Alleman missing a field goal or two.

This will be our toughest test of the season no doubt. I would not be surprised at all if LSU won but I think Alabama pulls this one out, 24-10.

Shea, a couple of days ago you responded to a post on BOL and said you thought Bama would win by 3-10 points. After a couple of days of mulling things over, I'm curious to know what changed your mind? Home field advantage, Tiger stadium, stout defense? All very good reasons. It's rare for anyone to survive Tiger stadium and we'll be very fortunate to come out unscathed.

      Absolutely. Glad you asked.

Before the week I thought LSU seemed flat and would come into this game somewhat defeated.

But after talking to players this week, hearing Miles speak a few times and then feeling the vibe around town, I shifted to thinking LSU - with a turnover that equals points - could win at home by 3. Don't see it being a whole lot more than that.

This was the toughest game of the year to pick, for obvious reasons.

But woke up today and went w my gut.

    • 7 - 3 bama at halftime. 2nd half depends upon our O controlling the ball even a little bit.

      If O can move some:
      LSU 17 - 13
      If not:
      Bama 20 - 3

I have no problem with that. Thanks for answering my question. It's going to be a great game.

    • Defense
      - jam the WRs at the line.....if we play off the receivers 5-7 yards, then Bama will keep getting 5-7 yards on every first down.
      - don't hesitate to blitz early in the game and often. We need to rattle McCarron. Hit him as many times as you can.
      - no stupid personal fouls

      Offense
      - shite or get off the pot. Either trust Mett and the offensive line in the passing game or just use Ware at QB. We need to have some 3 and 4 WR sets to spread Bama out. Last year noone thought McCarron could throw and beat us. Bama trusted him in the NCG and it won them the game.
      - play some hurry up offense but don't get too cute with it. Saban hates hurry up offenses b/c he can't sub and he can't make changes....that drives the little control freak bonkers.
      - Stay committed to the run. We will get behind at some point in this game probably, but don't abandon the run and throw the ball 8 times in a row. If we are going to beat bama we have to run more than we pass, it's just the way it is.
      - Don't tighten up playcalling when you get in the redzone. WE can throw the ball without needing a trick play.

    • Just like 2010, I feel we pull this one out 24-20

      lsuisback24

    • I love how most Bama fans dont even see it being close...seems like they think winning by 14 is "pulling one out." That seems a little overconfident.

I think either way, this one will be close. LSU wins 17-16.

    • As an LSU fan, I could not predict that they will lose this game. Only LSU fans think we will win this one. If we out-physical them, and control the line of scrimmage, do not make foolish penalities, do not let the glory-hungry refs with the mics throw us off our game, execute the plays, and, when the time presents itself, do something that Bama does not expect us to do and do it right, we will win this game. They are not robots, they are human and they make mistakes. They are beatable, and someone is going to beat them. It might as well be us. Most teams have lost to Bama when they step onto the field. We cannot be that way. LSU wins 21-17.

    • LSU has a program defining moment IMO. I think we flip roles and Bama looks like the team that is out of sorts and stagnant on offense.

      LSU 23-13.

      Awilco2

    • I think both teams come out hyped like no one has ever seen but the crowd and playing at home keeps the LSU players going full steam thru all 4qtrs! we win 24-17 with a knockout td with under 2minutes left!

Oh and Oregon and KSU go down we face ND in the National title!

I hav already seen it!!!!! LMBO!!!
