Frank Wilson talks LSU recruiting

Frank Wilson, LSU

LSU recruiting coordinator Frank Wilson answered a slew of questions about the 2012 and 2013 class

From Tiger Rag editor Ben Love:

Tuesday night Wilson joined Tiger Rag Radio to tackle a number of recruiting-based issues with myself and co-host Shea Dixon of 247 Sports and Geaux247.

During the 10-minute Q & A (audio linked inside), Wilson gave his take on why the Tigers are recruiting so well out of state with the class of 2013 – eight of the current 19 commitments hail from outside Louisiana – as well as a peek into the LSU war room and an update on how new assistants Corey Raymond and Adam Henry are doing on the recruiting trail.

As always, it’s quality stuff from Wilson, who also tipped his cap to a potential verbal commitment calling in at the very beginning of the interview. Be sure to check that out, as we all know now Wilson was most likely referring to North Carolina-based defensive end Lewis Neal, who did ultimately give his verbal pledge to LSU a night later, on July 4.

    • Sounds like an intelligent man/coach! Goodluck to you guys this year! Please don't call off the dogs when your playing AU, we'd all love to see AU come back down to earth after what they say they're gonna do to start the season.

      See you guys in November!

    • Coach Wilson is a person of substance and of intelligence to go with an earnest and dynamic personality. He is very, very impressive.

    • Great Q&A Shea.. The next time you talked to him is it possible you can ask him how he's approaching certain high school coaches (okay namely St. Aug)? He has deep roots there but given the recent St. Aug coaching changes (and some of the favoritism they may have towards another school) how is he planning to counteract that? I'm sure he won't specifically say how and what school but perhaps he may give you some tidbits to share.

      Thanks.
