Will LSU finally land the no. 1 LA prospect again?

There was a couple of tech glitches and Willis was one of them. He should be ahead of Brumfield and that will be fixed.

    • Sonny wasn't there another guy on the cusp? I thought at some point we were talking about 14 guys possibly making it in the updated 247. Also, did Quinn move up any? It does not seem like it and I thought someone said he would. Thank you.

    • With the real possibility to get 6 of the top 20 players, that would rival some of the top classes of all time for any team.

If there are external factors into why lsu stopped pursuing tim Williams, why is that not considered when ranking players? If grades, behavior, Etc become issues, I think a prospect should go down. In other words, those things need to be considered along with athletic talent. For these reasons, I don't really view TW as the top instate player.

    • I know it's early... Very early, but 2014 is tee'd up for LSU to get the #1 class!

    • Strong year, very strong year, I just think some guys in cali , texas sometimes overrated, and take spots cause they have more players.

It actually looks like he went backwards for some reason!

Tim Williams shouldn't be in the 247 this year. I think the guy only had 1 sack this year and less than 20 tackles. He is more overrated for college than Mingo is for the NFL. Both have potential, but it seems only one (Mingo) has a work ethic.

It would take Williams a few years to see the field at LSU. That isn't 5 star or high 4 star material.

Hope this young man gets his head straight and makes the most of himself.

    • LA is well-represented, for sure. Good to see, but way early.

    • When is the Boys of the Bayou held on campus for recruits? Is that event for just the class of 14?

    • Sonny, of all the class of 14 recruits how many do you think will sign with us?

There isn't one of the 13 from Louisiana that I look at and say LSU is in big trouble here.

I think the battles to keep an eye on at this moment are:

      Quinn: LSU/A&M
      Fournette: Bama/LSU
      Willis: Florida/LSU
      Jones: Bama/LSU
      Robinson: LSU/Bama
      Brumfield: Florida/LSU

It's set for January 12 and there may be a couple of 2015 kids invited but that hasn't been decided on yet.

Couldn't agree with you more that Tim Williams is not the #1 player in Louisiana and he is going to be put under the microscope very closely at Under Armour all week. Shea and I both feel that Tre'Davious White is #1 in the state followed by Kendell Beckwith.

I do respectfully disagree, though, that Williams should not be in the Top247. He has a ton of potential but is a hit or miss too often and not consistent. If someone gets through to him then he is the type of guy that could blow up in college.

Just because LSU doesn't have the interest of some other big-time schools it doesn't mean the player should drop in the rankings and vice-versa if they all of a sudden fall in love with a kid. I agree that Williams is not #1 in Louisiana.

Grades aren't reflected in a prospect's ranking because it is hard to validate and not something you can do across the board.

Rae-Juan Marbley will be a 4-star LB from Destrehan and that will give Louisiana 15 prospects rated 4-star or higher including Jacory Washington.

I really pushed for Trey Quinn to be ranked ahead of Cameron Sims and that happened but not sure if he dropped a couple of spots. He didn't drop in anyone's eyes, but it is possible someone moved ahead of him.

    • Think he means LSU listed as 'warm' and Florida, FSU, and Texas A&M show 'warmer' on his profile page.
