Can LSU fend off Alabama and land the New Orleans star lineman?

LSU coach Greg Studrawa has already pegged Brother Martin guard Will Clapp as one of the top priorities for the 2014 class, and the junior was in Baton Rouge this weekend.

I will laugh a few years from now if people hold up Clapp's commitment as some sort've pelt on Stud's recruiting wall. Coach Voo Doo BBQ himself (Steve Middlefinger) couldn't jack that one up.
Well, maybe I'm getting ahead of myself on that one...

I like everything about this young man. A '14 class of Robinson, Brumfield, and Clapp would just be a great haul, and all from within the state!

"I want to try to commit before my senior season starts," Clapp said. "I am not one of those guys to stretch it out. I would rather just commit so it's not a distraction for my teammates.
Good to hear. Hope a lot of the 2014 guys feel the same way.

I've said it for a few months now, but it's very important that LSU cleans up the in-state OL and WR position groups in 2014. If they add those seven kids (Clapp, Robinson, Brumfield, Quinn, Noil, Dupree and Sims) to Fournette, LSU will have gone a long way toward securing its future talent pool. I don't mean to leave out a kid like Hootie Jones, who's a very important recruit in his own right. It's just that I think most of the DB group could be filled from out of state kids in 2014 while the OL and WR groups can pretty much be filled in-state.
