Another title for Diarse?

John Diarse

Can John Diarse bring home a third state title?

It's been an impressive high school stretch for Neville QB and LSU commitment John Diarse, who will take the field on Friday in search of his third Class 4A state title.

Love his attitude. Bring those championship ways on down to Death Valley, Mr. Diarse.

S/S, what current or former Tiger does he remind you of? If none comes to mind, what former or current college player should we expect to see him become over the next 4 years?

I am glad he is coming to LSU but I will miss seeing him in person up here in NELA.

He is a stone-cold, do-whatever-it-takes, winner. Check out his tee shirt and his hand symbol. He's throwing up his three peat, not some gang sign. Everyone in the 2013, 2014 and a couple more classes knows John is planning on winning another championship Saturday.

I know you weren't asking me but he reminds me of Michael Clayton, not for playing the exact same way but for his overall demeanor and calmness. Clayton has a couple of inches on him. Neither has outstanding speed. I don't think scouts would say either has off the charts athleticism either but they have enough to combine it with instinct and savvy and make big plays. John is really good in space for someone who isn't the fastest guy on the field. He will take advantage of a defender taking a bad angle or using bad tackling form. Both of them can play a mean safety & special teams and have done so in big games for their team.

Chinese, thanks! You are confirming what I have heard re: his competitive nature and desire to win from of people in NELA.

    • This young man sounds like a winner through and through. Gonna be a great Tiger, imo; his poise on the championship stage shows that he can handle the pressure, and dish it back. I hope we put him in the slot, and get the ball in his hands. I think he will make the same kind of impact as a FR as Jeremy Hill has made.

I can definitely see him getting some early playing time on whichever side of the ball they put him on and/or on special teams. He's played safety, and played it well, in big games and big situations since his freshman year. If he's not in the WR rotation early, he would be great as a situational player. I could see him lining up as blocker to get a direct snap in a fake punt or as a gunner covering kicks..Just get him on the field and let him play some football!

I think that's two of his finest attributes and what will make him a leader and a big success at LSU. He is so driven and works so hard. He doesn't have the best measurables but when he puts on the pads he is as fast as he is out of him - Football speed.
