This game should be a big pitchers duel much like the first game of the Super Regional against Jonathan Gray. I don't think Plutko is as good as Gray, but UCLA's bullpen is incredible and might give LSU some fits.
I'm frigging ready! Hell, I've been ready for quite some time. Sipping Crown and waiting for my Tigers to win.............another one!
"It's my hometown, and that's big for me," Henry said. "It's about playing for the home team in front of family
TOP 1ST INNING
Aaron Nola allows a two out single but quickly picks the runner off at first.
UCLA 0, LSU 0
BOTTOM 1ST INNING
Mark Laird hits a blooper down the line in right and is able to move in to second with a double. Alex Bregman and Mason Katz are retired to leave him stranded.
TOP 2ND INNING
Nola pitches a quick 1-2-3 inning.
BOTTOM 2ND INNING
Ty Ross singles to left with two outs. JaCoby Jones pops up in foul territory to end the inning.
LSU has been putting together some good at-bats against a very talented pitcher in Plutko. It will be great to see them change the good at-bats into hits the second time facing him.
TOP 3RD INNING
The Bruins draw a walk with one out but can't do anything else against Nola.
BOTTOM THIRD INNING
The Tigers go three up three down.
Bergman is in a slump. Big time. Could see an O-for- CWS.
Katz for president
Plutko's 88 fastball and 80 change is devastating. Until Katz treated him like the crap pitcher he is!
TOP 4TH INNING
Nola allows a lead off single and the runner is moved over to second on a sac bunt.
Nola sits down the next two batters to end the threat.
BOTTOM 4TH INNING
Katz hits a solo bomb, the first of the College World Series.
UCLA 0, LSU 1
TOP 5TH INNING
The Bruins get the leadoff batter on with a single, and again he moves over to second on a sac bunt. Nola rises to the challenge and retires UCLA with no damage done.
Off topic but I have the Miss America contest on the TV in the bedroom so that I can go look at it on the commercials.
Miss Louisiana and Miss Alabama both made the top 15 cut. I found it interesting that Miss Alabama says that her passions are chewing tobacco and binge drinking. WTF! I'd do her anyway but she would have to spit that shit out first and brush her teeth before bedtime. Just sayin'...
Wanna see a real Louisiana gem? Google Allie Landry from Breaux Bridge Louisiana. Now she was a great Miss America.
BOTTOM 5TH INNING
The bottom of the LSU lineup goes three up three down.
never seen so many pop ups by the Tigers
On a side note, I think this umpire is terrible.
Gosh I hate we are losing Ty Ross.
TOP 6TH INNING
On a bunt by the leadoff batter Ty Ross makes a throwing error and the runner moves to second. UCLA bunts him over to third and he crosses the plate on a sac fly to left.
UCLA 1, LSU 1
embarassing inning.....cheap run
Nice clutch hitting Raph.
BOTTOM 6TH INNING
Laird gets a single up the middle with one out. With two outs Katz draws a walk to put runners on first and second for Raph. Rhymes flies out to end the inning.
