I'm sorry but I really have to question the coaching staff on him. I usually don't and leave it to their judgement but Im at JerryWorld and this kid deserves an offer badly. Running guys over and it always takes multiple guys to bring him down
I like this kid and where our RB depth may be, he's a take in my eyes
All eyes on LF...gotta show him a clean depth chart.
Yea then what happens when LF doesnt come to LSU, then we screwed adam for nothing.
Definitely not a fan of the all in for LF plan
Because the other school we are competing with for him, Alabama, is doing the same thi...oh wait, they have about 5 RB commits in the next two years
How did we "screw" him? Did he ever have a committable offer? He certainly did not have an offer than was pulled and he has a full scholarship to Nebraska, so he is hardly getting screwed.
I think we should sign at least 1 RB in each class. Injuries are always a concern. However, does anyone actually think they will only sign 1 RB in 2014. Or not even offer anyone else? I bet we sign 3 in 2014 and at least 2 in 2015.
Right, that probably gives us an advantage to sign him. I do agree we should have signed a RB in this class, but who should we have not offered instead?
We should have gotten Tyren Jones.
Originally from Louisiana but we refused to recruit him.
So who should we not have recruited instead? I don't think RB was a priority need in this class. You can't just add Taylor and or Jones without dropping someone else from the class, so who would you cut?
No need to cut anyone. We've got plenty of spots available, certainly one for our most important skill position. Not saying it had to be Taylor but at one point we were definitely willing to take Ryan Green so RB was a spot that we had a spot for.
Just remember name darrel willams if lf plan does,'t work out.
I really don't understand all the complaining at running back. We are likely going to add LF next year and the list of freshmen RBs who have started/played significant PT at LSU and other places is longer than I can type. Also, when was the last time there was a hole in the RB spot at LSU? 20 years? I honestly can't remember the last time LSU didn't have a capable back in the backfield. LSU will be fine at RB like they always are. If you want to worry then direct your attention to S, DT, a tall WR, etc. but not RB.

Well we've got 3 spots left and Bain, Beckwith and a couple of others out there we would have to do without someone to sign a RB. I assume the coaches liked Green better than Taylor, which is not to say Taylor won't be good, but he is not a Fournette type talent that you can't pass on. We'll be fine, It's a risk since Hill, Hilliard and McGee could all go, but chances are 2 will be here in 2014 and they will sign 2-3 RB's and 2014 and at least 2 in 2015. I
The concern is all the current RB's are draft eligible in the next 2 years, so it's possible you could no RB's but freshman in 2014. Chances are though that at least 1 and maybe 2 of the upper class man will still be there in 2014.
It's the complaint du jour. If I knew the french wordfor hour, it would be the complaint du that.
Just broke off a long touchdown run on 4th and 1 to give Katy the lead back in the 4th quarter. The kid really wanted to be a Tiger, that is why I wanted him at LSU.
"That was Death Valley,". "That was the place where opponents' dreams come to die. Coach Les Miles after the LSU - South Carolina game.
well Adam Taylor is looking like a 5 star tonight.
As long as we sign 2-3 in next years class we will be fine.. I just dont see a problem by passing on Taylor or another top Back.. LSU will get interest from the top RB's every year..
We have Blue and Ford that will probably return.. We have Hill, Hilliard, and Mcgee also.. after next season I could see Hill going if he has a big year.. Hilliard would have to have a huge year to declare and Im sure he would go if he does with kids to support.. If we did lose Hill and Hilliard it would be very attractive for the top RB's in the country if we do have room on the depth chart to give freshman Backs a shot at early PT.. I think the coaches know what they are doing here.. We havent exactly hurt for RB's in the Les Miles era...
PS: dont forget that Brazil could end up on offense also.. maybe a Sproles type of Back?
Im thinking the coaches have to be considering that since they didnt go a RB this year..
Geauxlden, have you seen Adam play? Just curious.
and then just ices the game for Katy...5 touchdown and about 250 yards on the ground for him today.
Although I can see why the coaches passed due to other needs, current depth, and 2014 RB's, I love that he wanted so badly to be a tiger and I think he will be a great back,, I would love to see him a tiger and in a few years we may all wish he was.. In my earlier post i in no way am coming off that i dont like him or want him in the class.. I just think we will be fine at rb if we pass on him this year
Only on film unfortunately. My first impression of Taylor was Alfred Blue pt II, slasher with good but not great speed. I know some say it's all about his OL (which is great) or who Katy plays (relatively weak district and region III opponents in the playoffs) but I think Taylor is good. Some compare him to former Katy RB Aundre Dean who didn't live up to his billing but I think Taylor is more athletic. He certainly is a tough runner who'll do well at Nebraska and I would've been fine with him being apart of our class.
Husker fan here, roaming around and saw this thread. For the sake of stats, here is what Adam Taylor did in just the postseason. Six games:
9.07 Yards Per Carry
I'm glad to hear you're likely to pass -- because we both know he'd be a Tiger in a heartbeat.
Yeah Im on the boat to where we shouldnt put all our eggs in the Leonard Fournette basket .... Especially with Cyrus Crutchfield as his coach.
Its going to be like watching Christin Michael at aTm .... knowing he wanted to be a Tiger but the staff didnt want him ...
I hope for Miles sake he delivers on Fournette because if not every site will erupt that we passed on Taylor and he blows up ....

What did Michael do that was so much better than Ford/Ware/Hilliard/Hill?
Taylor and Fournette are not the only RB's out there, so they will sign someone and it will probably be someone pretty good.
