Something to watch in this game is Jackson State's ability to run the bases. Those Tigers have stolen 125 bases this season.

With runners on first and second with two outs, the rain delay has started in the top of the first.
TOP 1ST INNING
Eades gives up a leadoff double and hits a batter to put runners at first and second with two outs. The next batter hits a double down the line to bring in two runs.
JSU 2, LSU 0
I don't know why it took them as long as it did to call the Rain Delay. You could see that it was pouring down out there.
Then the 2nd run scored was due to the ball slipping out of Eades's hand. Time for the bats to make up the difference.

BOTTOM 1ST INNING
Sean McMullen leads off with a single through the right side of the infield. McMullen steals second and moves to third on a fly ball off the bat of Tyler Moore. After Alex Bregman is beamed, Mason Katz hits a sac fly to right to score McMullen.
Bregman steals second and moves to third on an attempted pickoff by the catcher. He eventually scores on a throwing error by the shortstop on a routine groundball hit by Raph Rhymes.

Thanks, Drew, for the game notes.
TOP 2ND INNING
Eades allows another leadoff single, but the runner is thrown out trying to steal second. A walk, a single up the middle, and a HBP loads the bases with two outs for Jackson State. Eades cools down and strikes out the next batter to end the inning with no run damage.
BOTTOM 2ND INNING
LSU goes three up three down.
Eades did not look good at all. Still think we should have started Bonvillain or Newman.
TOP 3RD INNING
Eades strikes out the first batter, but he walks the next two and Mainieri gives him the hook. Kurt McCune takes Eades's spot on the hill.
McCune retires the first two batters he faces and keeps the score the same.
JSU 2. LSU 2
Nice effort by Eades. Way to step up when we needed him.
Since Eades was pulled so early, LSU could still use him this weekend if they need him in a pinch.
BOTTOM 3RD INNING
McMullen leads off with a single and Moore hits a line drive into right on a hit-and-run to put runners on first and third with no outs. McMullen scores on another sac fly by Katz to give the Bayou Bengals the lead.
After a Raph Rhymes walk, Ibarra hits a double into left-center that pushes Moore across the plate.

TOP 4TH INNING
McCune gives up back-to-back singles to start the inning. He settles down and strikes out the next two batters and gets the third to pop up behind third.
On the pop up Bregman and Rhymes collide. Raph is slow to get up. It looks like he is bleeding a little on the face.
BOTTOM 4TH INNING
JaCoby Jones leads off the inning with a single to left. He moves over to third on a poor pickoff attempt by the pitcher. After Andrew Stevenson draws a walk, McMullen hits a fly ball deep enough in the outfield to score Jones from third.
Chris Sciambra is pinch hitting for Bregman and takes full advantage of the opportunity by hitting an RBI single. Mason Katz hits a two-run bomb to straight away centerfield.
JSU 2, LSU 8
Jared Foster comes in for Rhymes, and Casey Yocom comes in for Bregman but is playing third. Ibarra moves over to short.
TOP 5TH INNING
McCune allows a leadoff double and a single. With runners on the corners with one out, Jackson St. hits into a rally killing 6-4-3 double play to end the threat.
Raph is getting stitches in his lip and Bregman is being taken to the hospital most likely for concussion precautions.
BOTTOM 5TH INNING
LSU is retired in order.
Of course something like this would happen. Geez.
TOP 6TH INNING
McCune gets a 1-2-3 inning for the first time today.
BOTTOM 6TH INNING
After Katz draws a walk with two outs, Jared Foster hits a homer into the bleachers in left.
JSU 2, LSU 10
TOP 7TH INNING
McCune gets a second straight three up three down inning.
Btw folks LSU was a 8.5 run fav
