Jim Kleinpeter from the Times Picayune penned this piece from Miami after speaking with Notre Dame QB Gunner Kiel and Alabama S Landon Collins, who both were high on LSU, but went the opposite way in the 11th hour.
Figured some would want to read their quotes.
Kiel says he doesn't blame Miles for chest remark
"I guess you've just gotta find something you love to do and then... do it for the rest of your life." - Max Fisher
It was great to hear their side of the story. Thanks Shea.
Still, I have no respect for either one of them!! They are Tiger bait!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gunner can't say sh*t about Miles because he knows what he did was wrong. Miles has every right to be pissed at the kid. Les pulled another young man's scholarship in order to accommodate him (Kiel) and he then leaves Miles at the alter causing LSU to lose TWO players instead of ONE.
Les Miles went way out his way to show Gunner how much he wanted him and Gunner gave Les lip service in return. Yeah, I'd be ticked off as well.
Piss on both of them esp. collins!
Are you kidding? Les should have called him out even more. Gunner bent us over with no lubrication. At least have the balls to tell Les, no showing shows no class, no character and that he has a vagina.
The one I REALLY want to hear about is Torshiro Davis. He REALLY screwed LSU over on signing day.
Sorry but 18 year olds are not kids, hey are adults and even if you want to say he is a kid what he did was wrong on so many levels. What we allow kids to lie now, to purposely do something different than what they said they would do. If Kiel had called Les up and said hey I can't do this that is one thing but to no show and just show up at Notre Dame, I'm sorry he played us and he gets no free pass. This isn't a kid from the streets trying to bs his way into a school this was a well off educated person who knows right from wrong, well should have.
It's not like Les went on ESPN or Twitter and called Kiel out so again Les did nothing wrong. He stuck up for our program you know the one that went all out for Benedict Arnold. Good thing I'm no the coach I would have made Kiel cry. So hope we get to play Notre Shame, Kiel is the QB and he finds out why you don't screw us over.
The Kiel kid did screw LSU big time...and I hope he is a flop at Notre Dame...but I do agree that I wish Miles had just let it go.
I like that Miles said something. I shows that he has "CHEST".
Imagine a society where people are held accountable for there words and actions. Kiel did mind the spot light and attention when it was positive and everybody was raving about him. He needs to get his panties out of a wad, and take responsibility for his actions. His parents are the ones who should be embarrassed because they allowed their son to enroll at Notre Dame without even calling LSU! That shows there lack of character!
I guarantee that this embarrassment will make him think about the right choice more in the future.
My thoughts exactly!
