As I headed downtown yesterday I didn't really no what to expect from the new stadium/area. As someone who saw Warren Morris go yard first hand the ole spot was pretty special. However, I tried to entertain this the same way I have come to appreciate the new AB. When I pulled off the Interstate I was very impressed. I believe the last couple of years have been the soft opening, waiting on LSU. The area is buzzing with everyone catering to the crowds. There are tons of shops, bars, restraunts ect. Everyone I have came in contact with has wanted to talk LSU and thanked me for coming up. As I made my way over to the stadium, I met up with the Omaha asst Chief of Police who is an old friend. I know several of you were concerned about the tailgating and drinking around the new stadium. I can assure you that as long as you don't become EXTREMELY belligerent you will be fine. He does ask that you not walk around downtown with a can, just use a solo cup. The B, D lots ect allow for tailgating, open container ect. I had a great time tailgating and talking baseball with several teams yesterday. Overall I give the new area a big thumbs up, and realize Omaha had to step up or the CWS was gone. I won't comment on the stadium until tomorrow, as I refuse to enter for the first time until my Tigers play. Today should be amazing!!!
Thanks Tiger Tub. You made me feel as if I were there for a little visit.
Thank you very much for that info sir
Sounds great, hopefully one day I can make it there
Thank you for allowing us to enjoy that aspect of the game by living vicariously through you and what you get to see.
Thanks, T Tub,
I feel like I just was there through that post. Wish I really was..
Enjoy the whole experience brother!
Regards to All,
Joe and I
Did they move Zesto's over by the new stadium? I went there at least once a day my first and only time I went to the Blatt
Yes Zestos's has a nice new location right across the street.
Sounds like I'll be making a trip to Omaha again
Piccolo's is another great place there in Omaha. If you want a delicious prime rib, they definitely have one there and it is MASSIVE
