I don’t debate that his mother came before the relationship did. However, this was hatched in July, when he and Kamara took a secret visit to Ole Miss. Since then, he has been to Oxford 10+ times and from what I can tell, honestly loves the town and coaches. He said as much in interviews at the UA game. I don’t think for a second though he doesn’t have love for LSU. I think he does, and as I said, in a vacuum, he would go to LSU.
I think it does suck for Robert if in fact he does not want to go to Ole Miss. I don’t think that’s the case though. I think he’s torn about LSU and Ole Miss and Ole Miss wins out because of family. You have to remember, a year ago his brother was a redshirting Freshmen coming off injury without a position, and not Freshman All American MLB.
Don’t dispute that at all. LSU is an impressive team near a GREAT city. A lot of fun a debauchery could be had if I was an 18 year old Stud football player!
Because he prefers LSU as does his dad? Seems like a good reason to me.
GET AT ME
I don't know who Sunday prefers. He also said Robert was going to OM at the Vandy game. I doubt he cares really where his kids go.
I could care less about the concerns, worries, or fears of an Ole Miss fan on this site....my two cents !
I've seen all kinds of stuff on this kid, from different places.
Including him telling folks at his high school he was going to LSU, and that his Dad wanted his mom and brother to let him make his own choice.
Personally, I still think he goes to Ole Miss, but that being said...I don't think it's a done deal.
LSU has been heavily in the mix prior to his verbal to Clemson. The depth at LSU is very thin in my opinion, and someone like him could play a significant role on the field day 1. The national exposure at LSU and ability to D linemen to be drafted early yearly will play a part. I think if he shows up on his visit w/ his mother he will end up in purple in gold. No mom & the writing is on the wall for Ole Miss. It all stems off mom making the visit b/c our coaches will definately win her over --- not looking at things with the purple & gold glasses, i personally believe LSU has more to offer from educational help, national exposure, NFL grooming, and championship contention standpoint -- everything except his brother. I will also say generally speaking, Ole Miss smokes LSU when it comes to good looking women.

I just think both schools offer the opportunity to play from day one... I know he's a stud recruit, but he still needs to be coached up, and Brick has a much better track record than Chris Kiffin. First, Chris is Lane's brother, so that should scare RN off right there being related to such a scum bucket lol.... but seriously, Chris Kiffin has never coached on an elite level before this year. He has been a QC guy at a few schools because his dad, Monte, got him the job. He has only been a position coach for 2 years in his life, 1 at Arky St and 1 at OM this past year. Can he eventually be a great coach? Sure, but Brick has already proved himself many times. Brick has been a position coach since the 90's, which also includes a stop as the DL coach of the Bears in the NFL. Chris is not even in the same ballpark as Brick's resume...
LSU offers immediate playing time, one of the best DL coaches in the country, and a chance to play for Championships. The kid could probably make it to the NFL even if he went to a D2 school, but why pass up an opportunity to play for a guy who has a proven track record for putting kids into the NFL? I could see if we had like 20 DE on the roster, but that's far from the case. We just lost 4 DE's this year, opening up every opportunity to play day 1 for one of the best DL coaches in the nation.
Proud to support everything Louisiana
All Ole Miss has going for it is his mom wanting him to play with his brother. LSU offers more in just about every category and it isn't even close. I do agree that the Univerisity of Mississippi campus does have the best eye candy of any college campus I've been on. My sister just graduated from Ole Miss so I've been up there to see her. The women are hot but Oxford would suck for most young energetic college kids except for the ones who like quiet and just hang around the house/dorm. I think kids from MS mostly choose Ole Miss because of status. The "cool kids" go to Oxford instead of Starkville. If I had to guess, I think the conclusion will be opposite of what happened with Landon Collins. I think mom wins this battle.

He's recruiting for ole miss. Why are you losing confidence? I expect him to go there
No offense but if ole miss gets 4 5* recruits, you won't be competing... You'll be on probation.
We will end up with Hooks, Treadwell, Robert, Daniel and Conner. Reports out of Florida this morning are that he informed the Fla staff he was going to Ole Miss.
It's on two of FLA sites including the Robert weekend thread on FLA 247
I'll count LSU out after he visits LSU and still has Ole Miss on top.
Yea it was on TOS that he is Ole Miss bound from the Fla site.
I seriously doubt he makes the visit after his OV to OM next weekend.
Is treadwell going to qualify? I am hearing he has a lot of work to do.
Connor is a good one.
Don't know the others
This will be the key IMO... if he leaves OM next weekend without a public commitment, and then takes his LSU visit... I think all bets are off!
There will be no public commitment next week. Everyone around here knows he has been committed since November. However, he wants to go to NSD. ESPN is also now going to be at Ole Miss for NSD. I don't think they would set that up if we thought we were going to be kicked in the nuts.
I still think he visits LSU. I wouldn't say all bets are off, but you have a shot if he visits. I was just reporting what FLA sites were saying.
As for Treadwell, dude has very good grades.
Sameolereb, not doubting you about treadwell's grades. Just stating what I heard. Also seems odd that ND or ohio state would not have pressed harder for him since proximity to two strong programs are closer to his backyard.
ND did the entire way until he told them they werent in his top 3. Also, He was basically a Michigan commit through the summer.
