I get hard on Les and the staff especially about our offense. But I also give them props when they do things so well. This is an outstanding class with talent that will play on Sundays. If we can back this up with all the La. talent available next year, the cupboard will be full.
I will throw this out there if we all agree the talent is there in this class, lets not see excuses that we did not have talent to work with down the road.
I agree tbone except you just never know how the talent is going to pan out. Some years you get a TM7 and some years you get David Jenkins. The staff does the best evaluations they can and we're all happy right now...but the kids have to come in, work hard and take advantage of their opportunities. You know what Im sayin.
The best way to judge each recruiting class is after they have been apart of the team for 3 or 4 years.
Damn Strong Football Team
Kudos to the coaches, for sure. And I agree that, while this class looks like all-world on paper, we will see what we have when the pads are put on and play is for real.
Staff is certainly entitled to some positive recognition. FWIW, Miles has recruited hard and successfully since he arrived. What fans don't get is this is a tough league and 9 or so of the top 20 recruiting classes happen in the SEC. There's a very narrow margin between 12-1 and 10-3.
That is very true. It boils down to development, preparation, execution, and game planning. Throw in a lucky bounce or two.....every championship season has a break here and there.
THIS!! Many different factors play a role in most team's championships, whether it be scheduling(:cough: Bama), injuries, in-game luck, or other teams mistakes... most champions have their fair share of breaks throughout the year. Both of our championships were pretty lucky, more so 2007 than 2003. Everyone knows we lucked into the 2007 game, but 2003 could have easily been USC in the Dome instead of us too...
Proud to support everything Louisiana
Then we should agree that when these kids leave in 3-4 years we don't freak out and say Les is running the program into the ground.
