I love his offense, and the man can recruit. I think he would be great at LSU if/when Coach Miles leaves.
"That was Death Valley,". "That was the place where opponents' dreams come to die. Coach Les Miles after the LSU - South Carolina game.
I doubt he would come.
Not so sure about that
Not so sure he wouldn't. TAM will never be what LSU currently is on a consistent basis unless Texas just bombs out.
I wouldn't complain about Sumlin if he hires a good DC(doubt Chavis would stick around with him) and he recruits cleanly(as in not blatantly dirty since I think we already bend rules). There are certainly better candidates out there that are gettable imo but Sumlin wouldn't be a bad choice. My biggest fear when Les leaves(which I don't think is anytime soon) is Alleva if he is still at LSU. I 100% do not trust him to make a good hire. He's too institutional and political for a guy I want making my football hire. We've got a Rolls-Royce program but he'd hire a a guy built to drive a Mini Cooper.
Sumlin won't leave A&M for LSU. I would take him at LSU, but he won't leave A&M for LSU.
I think there will be a lot of SEC West teams that will start hating Summlin and the Aggies pretty soon.
If we're shootin for the realistic moon I'll take Boise's HC. That man can coach'em up. Chris Peterson, i think?
They are gonna be good after a few of Sumlin's recruiting classes get there
Proud to support everything Louisiana
I'm still not sold on Sumlin. Other than inheriting a team with NFL offensive tackles, I'm not sure how different he is from the rest of the spread offense guys that have come out of that OU coaching tree. His teams wear out in the second half against physical teams, just like the rest of them. Bama will win this game be double digits, just watch.
I would prefer an offensive coach that would leave our defensive staff and frank wilson in place. I like Gruden, Spurrier, Peyton, Kelly, urban, and miss st coach. I also like Penn State's coach
Sumlin is a lot better than I expected. In a few years when the get more depth they will be competing for sec champs with us and Bama.
OK, maybe not by double digits...
And that's why I don't bet on sports. Gig'em.
Sumlin has a good OL and a great QB. He needs a very good DC. I like Chavis but I wonder if he would mesh with omeone other than fulmer or Miles after all these years. Sumlin has the Aggies playing as well as they can. I thught the Ag Defense played well except for late deep throws.
Kudos, but this Bama loss all but knocks LSU out of a BCS chance.
Bama should have two losses. And once again a after an LSU game a powerful team isn't the same. The tide should be 7-2 right now.
