Man, ya gotta love the job that CJJ is doing! This team is just getting better; and so is J.O.B. The ONLY reason this game is NOT that entertaining is because the Tigers are running away with this one on the road against S.C.!!!
Where are all those who were vehemently criticizing this hire now???
"It's my hometown, and that's big for me," Henry said. "It's about playing for the home team in front of family
Sorry CB, we posted at the same time. Well, I'm glad someone else is enjoying this game, and this team!!!
Then, today, J. Martin gets named an All American. Things are looking up for our Tigers on the hard-court, just as they are one the gridiron IMO!!!
Oh, plus JOB has 30 pts and 10 boards with almost 4 minutes.................again, on the road!!! This team looks better and better every time I see them.
If you're not impressed, that's only 'cause you ain't watching them!!!
When you can win by double figures on the road in the SEC then it says something about the job JJ is doing with the program. If he can start getting more talent in here like whats coming, LSU basketball will be special again under him. Great win for the Tigers tonight though.
Damn Strong Football Team
Well said Blake. Things are looking up for our Tigers. And I, for one, is happy about seeing JJ at the helm during this resurrection. I was a little hesitant about his hiring, I'll admit that; but I'm EXTREMELY impressed at what JJ's done in such a short time!!!
Alot of people will say that he has won close games, but on the flip side look at our losses. Of course we started bad because it was a transition period, but man to go to Bama and especially Kentucky and almost come out of the with wins, it has to pump you up as am LSU fan. And we continue to get better with what seems to be one of his best sound victories of the season tonight. The future is bright.
Yes, it is Blake, yes it is!!!
Tigers just manhandled this SC team.
The Tigers just may "steal" enough wins to find a post-season trip - NIT.
Jones has worked tireless to pump some life into this program. Fans need to get out and support their Tigers/.
I love our all out press defense, JJ will implement a ferocious press when he has the depth to do it for a full game
Proud to support everything Louisiana
Waiting for SouthofSouth on FamousAmos to chirp in....

Didn't see the game, but glad to hear about the victory. Congrats to our Tigers, and I, too, appreciate the job CJJ is doing.
How is the SEC tourney set up? Had the 4 byes with 4 first round games with 12 teams. How will it work with 14?
Me too Shea. We're he hiding at now. He's a fan of MBB, just like Robert in of the Lady Tigers.
The only critics I heard of JJ related back to the Lester Earl saga. I certainly wasn't counted in that number. The man loves LSU, is and has always maintained close ties to Louisiana high school basketball scene and has since added connections in Texas with his NTSU stint (a program he built up from the ground). He hired a great staff with the veteran hands Leonard (solid tactician and sounding board), Kirby (veteran of SEC and southern recruiting) and Patrick (extensive Australia ties). This was a hire not even Alleva could screw up (although he did once before when he hired Trent Johnson!).

No, that criticism was NOT directed at you! I don't even remember who THEY were. The dig, was related to TNT's constant badgering about you and Title IX; nothing more, nothing less. My apologies if I came across as accusing you of being one of THEM!
But, THEY are out there. Hey listen, silently, I had my doubts too. I never thought he'd get the ship "righted" this quickly. Again, my apologies!!!...............and nice post by you in rebbuttal; very well said!!!
I talk a little about the tournament here.
The biggest change is the top 4 get two bye rounds. It's very similar to before, except the bottom 4 teams have a "play in" type round for the last 2 spots.
Getting to 4th seed would be pretty huge. Otherwise getting to 6th means you get to play one of the teams who were in the play in so that is a good spot too.
If the season ended today, we would have a bye the first round, a second round matchup with Texas A&M and the winner of that one would face Florida. Not gonna lie, I wouldn't feel comfortable with that. LSU will have to make up some ground, hopefully to between 4th and 6th.

I've also posted a preview for the Mississippi State game -->
Thanks SoS. So do I understand you that the 11-14 teams will play and then those 2 winners will be slotted in basically the same format as the 12 team tournament with the top 4 getting byes?
correct. Pretty simple. I like it, but it makes it really tough on those last 4 to make a run like Georgia (I think it was them) did a few years ago.
To quote your article, in the words of Jarrell Martin
"We are bringing LSU basketball back."
