UPDATE: Nkemdiche will be joined on his Ole Miss visit on Jan. 25 by his Grayson teammate, DB David Kamara. The two have been best friends since the sixth grade. Both committed to Clemson, and then backed off the pledges within a day of each other. Kamara told the AJC that he’s still talking with LSU, Ole Miss and Clemson. LSU may be considering extending an offer and an official visit. “Just been talking to LSU a lot lately,” Karmara said.
One down, one to go for Robert Nkemdiche, the nation's No. 1 college football prospect. The defensive end from Grayson High School confirmed that he has set
Doubt it happens and I'm not really sure I want it to. I want Nkemdiche as mush as the next guy but not at the expense of another scholarship for a guy that is no more than a special teams player at LSU. If we have a spot to waste then fine but I'd rather give Riley and/or Carter spots in this class than take Kamara.
Not me. Nkemdiche is a game changer and we really need him on our D line after losing our starters. I think using a scholarship on his friend is well worth it. Definitely not the classiest thing but I think it's for the betterment of the program.
Definitely a polarizing issue.
I'd take Kamara if it means getting Nkemdiche
Statistically, half the class won't pan out to more than special teams player--if that-- might as well have one that can bring an all-American with him. It's not even a question if it were guaranteed to get you RN. If RN is close to Clowney, it'd be worth it to offer his whole crew

GET AT ME
Got to be the first time I agree with you. Like they said in another thread if you make enough statements we would have to agree at some point. "Blind Hog Theory"
Kamara is not a bad football player. He's actually pretty good. If Nkemdiche and Kamara want in - get 'er done!

Agree with you. Heck, I'm one of the few that wanted him to get an offer back in the spring. If we would have offered then, I think he would be committed to us.
Nothing you do is going to guarantee that Nkemdiche commits to LSU. Come signing day he can fax that LOI to anyone he has an offer with no matter how many of his friends you take in. It is not worth wasting a scholarship over.
I would give Karma a ship in a heart beat, RK is well worth it! hell we have wasted ships on guys way worst that most folks had an idea wasn't going to ever contribute. at least its possible we will be getting something back in return.
Another thing that would factor into me giving Kamara a scholly is that Carl Lawson's coach mentioned that he would like to play where RN plays. And who just recently showed interest in LSU? That's right, Lawson. I would offer Kamara a scholly before he even went on his visit to Ole Miss. He goes to Ole Miss now only thinking about the DBU contract he just received
For those saying that RN can sign elsewhere regardless Kamara goes, that is true, but if we want RN we gotta get something going in our corner and would he really do that to one of his good friends, especially if it is spurning LSU? Yes, he originally liked us, but Ole Miss has his brother at the school already and his mom prefers them because then she can see them both play when she visits. We gotta do something to even out the playing field and bringing Kamara here might just do it

I would think if RN commits to LSU it would be because he values draft position and playing time more than playing with a high school friend or brother. The reason I say that is if Kamara and RN sign with LSU, I doubt it is because he would rather play with a high school friend over his own brother. On the other hand maybe he is closer to Kamara than his brother.
Lewis Earl was better than Lester FWIW
After watching Kamara's recent stuff on Hudl, I really like his film and wouldn't even think we would be wasting an offer on him just to get RN. He reminds me a lot of Ron Brooks. I don't think Kamara will ever be the top CB for LSU, but he makes a lot of plays for his team like Brooks did and could play that same role Brooks did.
I wish we had taken his brother now...i don't think he was that highly rated but he has turned out to be very good player...so why not take a chance on his best friend IF that will get us Nkemdiche. He might turn out to be a good player anyway.
I was in favor of offering Rogers to get Bridgewater, and from what I've seen this season, Rogers is a very good WR. So, in my book, it would make sense to pursue Kamara if it meant we might get RN. Kamara is a good player in his own right, and if he even approaches what Brooks could do, that would be a good scholarship offer, imo.
Wow if you are so damn negative about EVERYTHING why do you waste your time being a LSU fan? I thought I was negative but you go way past that. I have never seen you post anything positive. You would think the way you act Miles did your wife or girlfriend. You bitch about the offense and that is the only thing you are justified on. How the hell can you even think half our class will be nothing but special teams players? Would love to hear who is a ST player at best. DeSean Smith starting TE, Rettig or Jennings starting QB, Pocic, Boutte and Dodd starting OL, Beckwith, Gilmore, Jones and Herron starting DL with Herron and LaCouture as good back ups, Robinson and White future studs at DB, Cutrer could be special, Diarse will start at WR at some point. That is just 16 guys right there that will start at some point I. Their LSU career and not even counting Johnson, Lawson, Malone, Brazil, etc who will be more than ST players.
It's ok to complain about some things but damn dude when you bitch about everything nobody takes you serious.
I'm not saying everybody we sign starts or is a stud. Show me one class under Miles where half the guys did not start.....
Where did I say everybody starts? Before you criticize my reading comprehension you may wanna look in the mirror....
I get it you hate Miles and everything associated with him. Answer this other than Saban who has had the best teams in the NCAA over the past five, six or seven years? If not for Saban and a lot of Miles refusing to hire a real OC and stay out of the play calling we would have won it last year and this year minimum. I'm not a Miles KoolAid drinker but name one coach that has been consistently better, other than Saban......
Congrats you missed the wholee point of this thread.
Personally, I think grades for current verbal commitments may be the eventual avenue to getting Kamara a scholarship spot and is the reason LSU is entertaining offering him.
To fill a gap in DB recruitment if those either/or both Rashard Robinson and Cutrer don't join, and to add one more inducement to attract Nkimdeche other than possibly starting on a potential contending and highly publicized LSU defense.
Both Cutrer and Rashard Robinson are not sure things to get in this class as DB's. If one or both don't make it, and if LSU is aware the chances are high that this will happen, they are probably going to offer Kamara and feel pretty good about it because his film shows some ability to be an effective player. He can run, play his responsibilities, and make occasional plays. I don't think he has Ron Brooks great speed, but Kamara runs pretty well nonetheless. Would need coaching up and that is on Raymond to do. He isn't a complete waste of a scholly.
I am interested to see if Carl Lawson really wants to play with Nkimdeche that bad should RN come here. Lawson is an immediate take if so and the two of them with the current verbals would be simply an incredible haul of DL's for one year's class.
