Breaking News: I have confirmed through multiple sources that Gus Malzahn will be named the next head football coach at Auburn University
Unless he hires an ace defensive mind I am not scared on bit.

Maybe this type of hire would push Reuben Foster in our direction.
Official now 247's Auburn site is reporting it
Gus Malzahn will be named Auburns 26th head football coach.
It's official per Phillip Marshall at Auburn Undercover (247 site).
Dominos falling fast with Brett B. also getting scooped up by Arkansas.

so much for K. Smart rumor
So who goes to Tennessee?
Thats what I'm hoping.
I just hope Gus cleans the slate and hires a completely new staff. Otherwise, I see most of their recruits sticking.
Not digging this one. His offense didn't really work in this conference except when he had an all timer at QB.

Proud to support everything Louisiana
Exactly what I was thinking.
Couldn't work out better with Foster and I agree the key here is that he hires all new coaches so that recruits won't be familiar with assistant coaches.
All these new coaches better leave Frank Wilson the hell alone. No need to test unproven offensive coordinators!
What an awful hire for Auburn. Malzahn gets a lot of hype because of Cam Newton but after Cam his offense was not impressive. I dont see how Auburn would hire back a guy like Malzahn when they need a proven winner in there at this time.

Sonny/Shea, sorry to bring his name up again, but do you think that LSU has a shot at Carl Lawson now? Thought that he would have stayed if Charlie Strong was hired at Auburn. Trooper Taylor, Mike Pelton, and Brian VanGorder are still there though, but LSU has everything to offer: title contender, winning tradition, pipeline to NFL (especially for DE and DT), solid academics, and chance for early pt.
If Malzahn is forced to keep any of the assissants, he is being set up to fail. A head coach is only as good as his assistants, in most cases. The Auburn assistants have not been able to coach up the players after they get them on campus. The two worst position coaches seem to be Luper and Taylor, according to a lot of people. Malzahn better insist on hiring his own assistants.
