"That was Death Valley,". "That was the place where opponents' dreams come to die. Coach Les Miles after the LSU - South Carolina game.
Here's the article that everything is coming from
Notre Dameo learned first of the death of his grandmother, Annette Santiago, and then of the death of his girlfriend, Lennay Kekua.
"I guess you've just gotta find something you love to do and then... do it for the rest of your life." - Max Fisher
What the hell?? Dude..
Seriously, because of how absolutely twisted this is, I hope that Deadspin is dead wrong.
"You can learn more character on the two-yard line than anywhere else in life." - Former LSU Coach and AD Paul Dietzel
Read the first comment, what does it mean by her professional name?
225 on fire. I'm a Southern Jag, LSU Tiger. I mean that.- Lyrical genus Mouse on Tha Track
ESPN's Pardon the Interruption says Notre Dame is saying Te'o says it was a hoax played on him.
If it was not a hoax, then the family would have immediately come out with facts in order to shoot the whole thing down. I don't see where they did that or where they are doing that. Any hesitation on their part is a sign of guilt.
This is so effed up. What a POS!!
If it was a hoax, then he would have shot it down during the season every time someone mentioned it - specifically his dead girlfriend. He never did that.
Stop and think about it: If someone asked you about your dead girlfriend and you didn't have a girlfriend that passed away, then obviously you would respond with, "I don't know what the heck you're talking about!"
Te'o was in on it the entire time. I would love to see some Heisman Ceremony footage. I'm willing to bet they brought this up during the ceremony and he answered with a straight face.

If this doesn't cost him a lot of money in the NFL, his performance in the BCSNCG sure as hell should. He is way overrated.
He was clearly involved. If you read the whole story, it is blatantly evident that he was apart of the hoax.
I never liked him anyway, always thought he was over-hyped; now I have another name to add to that list in another thread about players you dislike.
"They're on our left, they're on our right, they're in front of us, they're behind us....They can't get away this time." Chesty Puller
What a douche bag!
Is he a fruit? Where was his real girlfriend during this scam?
Here's Manti and his gf hugging.
That was a Seinfeld joke...
He did say they met or someone got that information that they met to print the story.. He was in on it.
I don't buy the whole "someone played a hoax on him" line either. You mean to tell me the love of his life had luekemia, and he never went to see or take care of her. She then dies and he never goes to the funeral, sees the body before the funeral or possible cremation of this woman that he was so deeply in love with. Doesn't add up. If it walks like a duck, quacks likes duck, then..... Also thought minter was better than him and it showed against an elite team like alabama
This is really a tragic story. The young man needs serious help.
...along this topic, I was listening to Paul Feinstein on the way home and he was relishing in this story. He sounded like a pre High School kid who just got his first piece. Most of the callers were also bristling with excitement over a story that belongs in the National Enquirer or an equivalent journalistic rag no less.
I hadn't listened to Fernbaum in weeks. Why in the hell did I commit that Mortal Sin today?
Just went and watched the ESPN Gameday special about his story and he clearly said one day I will see them again.
One of the best things I have seen said about the situation is, I would've put money on AJ McCarron's relationship with Katherine Webb being the hoax.
