LSU offered West Mesquite (Texas) S Dylan Sumner-Gardner today (Even though I'm counting Ed Paris as a CB when I say that, I know at least school actually has Sumner-Gardner higher than Paris on their board). The former Clemson commit is seen by many as perhaps the top safety in a loaded 2014 class in Texas. He is very high on Texas A&M right now but is still open to other schools.

Quite a few of us have been waiting on this offer to come through. Awesome.
So many Texas DB's !!!!
Proud to support everything Louisiana
Good stuff BP
This kid is a beast
Should be a priority at safety moving forward.
Glad to see the offer is there; we can't get'em if we don't offer.
Seems like Simmons may be heading to Stanford with all of the recent safety offers we have handed out
So nice i had to post it twice

Love the offer and think we'll have as much a shot as anyone including TAM. Kid's gonna have a circus recruitment. Could go the way of Ahmad Dixon or Craig Loston. We'll see which one.

I think he ends up at TAMU, but this is a good move and offer by the staff. This 2014 DB class has the potential to be insanely special for LSU, especially with offers out to guys like Sumner-Gardner or Adoree Jackson, who seem like longshots. Crazier things have happened.
Thanks for the heads up, Perroni!

Shea, so do you see our secondary probably being Brown, Paris, Jones, Voorhies possibly, then one or two more?
This kid can play and wanted to leave the state at one time (he was committed to Clemson). As jtmva said,"Circus recruitment" is possible. 2013 Safety Cameron Miles ended up at A&M but he de-committed from Tennessee before that. There was also drama with Eldridge Massington (USC to UCLA) and Dimarya Mixon (ASU to Nebraska). Miles was the only one from West Mesquite that stayed in-state.
Maybe the drama is because their coach, Mike Overton, is an SEC (Tenn) alum.
I love staying in the hearts & minds of the kids at West Mesquite. Lots of talent coming out of there lately.
QB Trevone Boykin 6'1" 205 3 stars TCU (we should see at JerryWorld in Sept.)
DB Kameron Miles 6'2" 200 4 stars Texas A&M
DE Dimarya Mixon 6'4" 250 3 stars Nebraska
WR Eldridge Massington 6'3" 205 4 stars UCLA
DB Will Earley 6'1" 190 3 stars Arizona State
They also have the 2015 duel threat QB, Chason Virgil, who already has Clemson, Mizzou * Nebraska offers. http://247sports.com/Player/Chason-Virgil-19627
