I think we're missing the boat on this kid. I don't know if it was measurables or speed or what, but I've seen him a few times this season and he's a player. Look forward to seeing him, Speedy, and Willis again in the Dome on Friday.
I believe he refused to come work out for a scholarship at camp when he was invited. Agree he is a player, but even putting aside his father's tirades, I think the staff saw some attitude issues there.
Time will tell. Lsu did their due dilligence scouting him and obviously something was not to their liking. One thing is for sure there is not a lack of DB talent at Lsu or waiting to come to Lsu.
He didn't come work, Tre'davious did, thus Tre'davious got the offer which set the father off. I would much rather Tre'davious than Ellis from what I've seen
He looks good to me to, but better than White and Jefferson? Not really, and they have better speed and size. Robinson? No again. Maybe more polished technique wise, but not better.

Said it in another thread but I like Ellis as well and would've had no issues with him being in the class. Kid can play. I'm not gonna hold his father's lack of class against the kid. However, with the group we have committed, he would be at the bottom of the list of kids I'm most excited about. It's simple, White, Robinson, Jefferson and Brazil are better prospects.
White got an early junior day offer without having to work out, which I think is what angered Noel and his father and made him skip the camp out of spite.
We will be just fine with White, Robinson, and Jefferson. I am quite certain that Brazil will be on offense.
I like Robinson most in this class and have said so many times. He ha that true lockdown style and mentality. He reminds me of Antonio Cromartie; physical, lean, great balance, and can fly.

After seeing both play over the past few years, there is no question in my mind that Ellis is a better corner than Jefferson. The kid is natural, fluid and tough. Jefferson is an athlete. Never seen the kid from Shreveport. NOt downing Jefferson...I think both should be takes. There's a reason we offered the kid in January. If we're still after Burns last month, then we're still looking for corners.

I definitely like Ellis as a player and think he would do well in LSU's system. But I understand why they went with Rickey and, especially, Tre'Davious, who I feel is the No. 1 overall prospect in the state for the 2013 class. He will be a go-to cover corner right away in my opinion, and I don't think you got that with Ellis.
Look forward to watching him more closely this Friday night at the Dome.

It appears to me that Ellis can play, as well. However, In looking at the athleticism of Tre'Davious White, if I am making a choice, it's going to be White based on all the things he can bring to a team. He is endowed with exceptional skills and I also see him a major player in special team returns.
