does Spencer Ware even see much PT and get many carries this year? If Blue and Hillaird stay healthy, along with Ford, where does he fit? I loved him last year until his suspension and injury, them=n he was never the same.
By the scrimmage stats, he is not geting the rock much, and the other RBs are tearing it up.
Thanks for a good discussion in advance....
I've heard he's not "getting much love" because he may be "in trouble" again. Take it for what it's worth. And I'm sure that's not breaking news.
His best game, in my opinion, was against TAMU in the Cotton Bowl. I don't think he's played at that level since and definitely not after his suspension.
Word is he's had a nagging hamstring injury that has lingered since summer. When healthy, I think he's still our best back.
With that said, Miles may be leery of relying too much on another guy that may be one failed test from a year suspension.
I loved his attack and physicality in his early outings.
That RB field is stacked - I think it's a long, physical season. Ware has good hands, has been reliable; he can block.
Ford is another RB I am wondering about. McGee is being tried at WR.
I'm a Ware fan - if he's healthy, he can move the chains. Is he in trouble? It would see we'd know that 2 weeks from k/off. Good question, Firny.
I agree, and remember how quick he looked in that game? Seems like he might of bulked up a little too much for last year, plus it just seemed like he wore down from the middle to the end of last year as well.
Spencer Ware vs A&M=Jeremy Hill this year?
I think so, he will get his chance late in games when we're run, run, run putting games away by running out the clock... might be more like Ridley as a FR.
That's a good discussion topic and I think all of our RBs have the talent to contribute. But to answer your question I think Ware has as much talent as any of them and I expect his competitive nature to put him back in a good spot in the rotation some time during the year. Especially if Blue and Hilliard get the majority snaps early in the season, I can see Ware, Ford, and Hill coming on strong in the second half of the season. Everyone will agree it's s great problem to have.
I like Spencer a lot, and I think he will definitely contribute this year, although when a team uses a RB by committee approach, it can be difficult to get significant carries. He is our toughest RB, and there will be times during the season when he will be just what the doctor ordered.
I agree if he is healthy. I also liked his game vs UF last year. He bascially terrorized the UF D in the 2d half. He was punishing, but if only at 50% as Shea mentioned, he needs to heal up. We will need him down he stretch.
Better Question is , should he see much PT. Blue and Hilliard are just outworking him. I think J Hill has more talent.
He just seems a little too big to me, almost as if it hurts his mobility. He just doesnt make good cuts and moves to me, but maybe its an injury.
Damn Strong Football Team
Rumor is Spencer Ware and Hillard slimmed down this year. The one im curious about is Hill. Oh hello board
Talk about stock down. Ware has been somewhat disappointing ever since he ran over the Texas A&M defense in the second half of the Cotton Bowl. And he definitely never looked the same after his suspension.
Won't be shocked to see Hilliard and Hill start to take Ware's carries.
Welcome. Where you from? You gotta tell us a little bit about yourself.
