I have been watching ESPN college football shows today and have not seen a single segment on LSU. Jessee Palmer & company spent their show on whose the best team in the nation, Bama or USC. Looking forward to Missouri first SEC game with Georgia. Urban Myer, Notre Dame in Ireland, on & on. Jarvis Landry didn't rate a hi lite mention, No LSU back was mentioned. Did I miss something? Did the Tigers get any pub? Did I miss it or did these people just ignore our team. btw, Bama has the best D line in the nation...per ESPN!
Perception is weekly with college football
To a certain degree! But LSU just doesn't seem to get the benefit of a doubt like USC and Bama!
Bama played a much better opponent than us so they are getting credit now. Much like we did after our Oregon win. USC gets credit because of Matt Barkley

USC gets credit because they're USC........media darlings!
If we keep winning the networks will have to start talking about us. Personally I don't care, I kinda like the underdog, us against the world motivation. LSU will get their time in the media soon enough just enjoy the ride.
Good thing we did or Miles would not have any BCS championships under his belt...
Oh, they have mentioned LSU, alot. Mostly that Claiborne played in the NC game, at LSU, and lost to Alabama..... ESPN hates LSU.
Espn loves LSU. They wanted LSU in 2007 w two losses.
I was just reading on BOL how ESPN hates Auburn. Even the BOLers admit that there is a favorite son and a few bastards running around. I certainly agree that the Bammers are their favorite in our conference.
Fellas, ESPN could give a crap about Bama. They just happen to have the best HC, they won the NC and they just destroyed big blue which is supposedly a top ten team. You dont get mentioned when you play an also ran. If we would have gotten mentioned, it would prolly be the big hit Mett took. Sometimes no press is OK in my book. There are plenty of chances to make the highlights...especially late in the year when it really matters.
The way I see it is if LSU completely trashing Washington the Media will jump on the wagon. ESPN always pumps the flavor of the month.
Networks will not talk much about LSU until Bama or USC loses a game. LSU embarrassing Washington can help - a close game takes us off of the map almost completely until South Carolina. Herbstreit said during the telecast 'In a perfect world, objectively, Alabama plays USC for the national championship.' Not sure what he means by "objectively." There is a chance Arkansas could beat Bama and a chance that USC could drop a game before the Oregon matchup. However, three programs have a special place in the talking heads' hearts - USC, Alabama and Notre Dame.
Notre Dame after beating Navy has now jumped into the AP top 25 at #22. After beating lowly Purdue, they could be sniffing the Top 15. I would not be surprised to see them then drop 6 straight before facing lowly Pitt. Navy's QB was 14-19 for 192 yards passing. That team is a joke but the media love carries them up the rankings after the "big" win over Navy.
I believe LSU and Oregon are undefeated going into November 3rd. If LSU gives South Carolina their first loss, we may get some attention. Oregon has the easiest journey to be undefeated going into the USC game. Oregon and USC can lose one game and will still play in the BCSC in my opinion (unless Fla St or Oklahoma go undefeated and that still may not matter).
Make no mistake about, the media will not allow a one-loss LSU team into the BCSC if Bama is undefeated.
In 2007 we went to the BCSC because UGA could not go since they did not make it to the SECC, Oklahoma had two ugly losses, and Va Tech got waxed earlier in the season by LSU. It had absolutely nothing to do with media love for the Tigers, there was simply no other way to go. LSU had 6 wins against ranked opponents. They did too much on the field so media bias was minimized.
I don't hate often, but when I do, I prefer Alabama, USC or Notre Dame.
Half of the national media loves the nutty Miles...the other half think he's nutty...LSU getting skull dragged is the last thing they remember at this point!
Gotta take care of business. It's as simple as that!
Proud to support everything Louisiana
ESPN is no friend of LSU since the Herbie goof in 2007. I really wish LSU had the power to negotiate with FOX. The Bama love fest is sickening on ESPN. However LSU could have changed all of that on Jan 9 and failed. If anything, it solidified it.
