Could RSJ be LSU's way of getting back for Davis' late and shady switch? I would love for him to up and switch come signing day for them. Les' way of saying, "don't f*** with us". I know our staff wouldn't do this, but it'd be pretty sweet.
Personally I hope our staff wouldn't tell a recruit to stay committed to another school when we know he is going to sign with us on signing day...even though that is exactly what the Texas staff did to us with Torshiro Davis. That is just low class in my book.
I would love to sign him and if he decides to wait till signing day to sign with LSU I am good with that, but not the way they did us with Davis.
haha I know what you mean and I definitely agree. I'm just still sore over that one.
Maybe Toshiro was our Ryan Perilloux
is that true about texas staff, or just speculation? Kids do switch all the time, and i understand coaches recruiting untill the end if they want a guy badly enough, but you would think that asking a recruit to be dishonest like that would hurt their reputation in the long run
What I remember is that the Texas coach who was recruiting Davis (who had been on staff at LSU at one point I believe) cancelled an in-home visit with Davis sometime prior to NSD(I think a couple of weeks prior to)...declaring that it was over...Davis was going to LSU and Texas wasn't going to keep beating its head against the wall over him. On the morning of NSD, Davis' handler/spokesperson/whatever, was still saying that he was going to fax in his letter to LSU. I remember listening to Bill King's show that morning and I believe it was J.C. Shurburtt saying that he couldn't give out any names but that Texas was going to get a big surprise recruit that nobody was expecting. I thought about Davis when I heard that...and that is who it turned out to be.
I don't know that they told Davis to stay committed to LSU (presumably to avoid any kind of pressure from LSU)...but it sure seemed to be a coordinated effort to me. But I'm not an insider so I could be way off base.
Miles and staff have too much class for that shit!
wow.. sounds dirty to me.. i would think the coaches would show more class than that.. i wander if he will 2nd guess himself as LSU keepings pumping out 1st round picks! D-Line U!!!
Texas will likely have two first round DL picks in next years draft. Not too shabby.
