Promises to be wild and wooly! Florida has to be the prohibitive favorite.
I think Kentucky with Noel was primed to make a run. Without him, I think they are just as likely to be one-and-done despite having more NBA prospects than any other team by far.
Lumped behind the Gators, I think LSU is as much a contender as Missouri, Tennessee, Alabama and Arkansas. And yes, I purposely leave Ole Miss out of that group.
I agree that it will be very unpredictable! I am very interested in these last games for LSU... we are obviously playing our best ball right now, and will finish playing all those of teams you mentioned above. I certainly think we can win out, but that doesnt seem too likely. I hope we at least split our remaining 6 games 3-3, and finish .500 in SEC play. Anything more than that will be a bonus. But we will definitely learn a lot about our team in these last 6 games... if we continue to play the way we have played recently, then we can definitely challenge for a top 3 team in the SEC
Proud to support everything Louisiana
The Tennessee game wil be very interesting. The Vols are talking a NCAA tournament run, even before the 30 point blowout of Kentucky. There big man Stokes has had a series of big games much like JOB3. Will be an interesting matchup between those 2 Tuesday. Hopefully O'Bryant will continue his double-double trend and not revert back to his foul foibles.
I agree, very unpredictable!
LSU playing much better. Arkansas playing better. UGA as well until the Bama game. UT looked every bit as good as UK looked so very bad this weekend.
Bama living right and damn fortunate to not lose at home to a cold shooting LSU team.
MIzzou is a schizoid bunch...They should be much better than they are. They are very mediocre on the road thus far.
UK: Calipari better find an interior p[layer on both ends of floor in a hurry or they are up against it. They could have lost at home to LSU as well WITH Noel but for cold shooting again. I think they have a great chance of tanking out of the NCAA into the NIT on a series of poorly played games.
Ole Miss: They are a wild card and can pull some upsets if they get hot. I can't wait to play them to see how LSU matches up against them defensively.
UF is the quality team in the SEC.
I think it is between Bama, LSU, Arky and Ole Miss for 2nd place in this tourney judging by the way the season is winding down.
Regards to All,
I'd replace Tennessee with Ole Miss with Georgia on the cusp. Unless Henderson is just unconscious (which he was earlier in the year), I just don't see Ole Miss being a contender.i think the worst spot to be in the tourney is the #8 seed (opposite Gators in bracket). Better to be a lower seed even and hope to meet them in finals and get on a roll for possible upset.
If the season ended today, the bracket would look like what I posted below.
I think LSU has a good chance at getting between 6th and 3rd for the tournament. Ole Miss, Mizzou, and Kentucky are really starting to fall behind. If LSU can continue to win they could easily pass them up. Either way, staying in the bottom section of the bracket would be nice to stay away from Florida until the Championship game.
Nice graphic. I think Tennessee ends up better than #8 and Ole Miss lower than #3.
Yea I think Ole Miss, Tennessee, and maybe Missouri could be dropping. I think the winner of tomorrows LSU vs Tenn game has a great opportunity to move as high as 3rd or so. I honestly think the SEC may only get 1 NCAA tournament bid...
I agree with that sentiment (1 bid). Of course short of a SECT upset it may take one of the "others" bunched together at #2-7 running the table the rest of the way and losing a close final to the Gators to slip in.
