Any chance of an update on St. Aug big man Craig Victor? I know you guys are focused on football, but getting this big man would be huge from a talent and perception standpoint for Coach Jones and staff as New Orleans has not been kind to LSU basketball-wise
Is Thon the 7-foot exchange student?
Will check in with Victor and our St. Aug sources to see what's going on there. Will make some calls tonight.
thon maker going to the carlisle school in va, not oak hill
I remember when Victor was a freshman there were rumblings that the '14 in-state basketball class was going to be very strong. Only name I recall was Victor, but believe there were 3-5 others that were highly touted at the time?
Carlisle School? That sounds legitimate!
Is that one of those schools funded by NIKE/ADDIDAS that has an enrollment solely of basketball players that meets in the basement of an agent's runners home?
After doing a little research, it's actually a decades-old, well-respected, K-12 private school that consistently wins state education awards. Tons of AP offerings, an IB program, etc. Seems pretty exclusive.
Average small private school basketball program. Not even a major in-state postseason threat, per MaxPreps and USA Today results and rankings.

I imagine they are trying to raise their athletic profile, as well. They apparently already have a lot of international students, so using a high-profile Australian recruit, with good grades at a strong school to boot, makes sense.
I think it makes sense for him as well.
My apologies to Carlisle. I figured it was another made-by-shoe companies "school" like that Findlay Prep in Las Vegas which is just clearly a basketball academy to filter kids to selected colleges and then (hopefully for the shoe company reps/street agents who are clearly running the "school") the NBA.
Or like the "school" a few years ago in North Carolina I believe? that was a few kids literally living in a guys rental house waiting for basketball scholarships.
Laurinberg Prep. That is where we got Chris Johnson from, IIRC. Cal also recruited a bunch of guys from there while at Memphis.
