Derrick Griffin visited Auburn this past weekend and sounds like he was close to signing. I thought everyone was under the assumption that he was going the JuCo route. If that's the case, why would he still be visiting schools?
My guess would be with the staff/roster turnover Auburn had room to gamble on the small chance Griffin magically became eligible while A&M and others (LSU) couldn't take that risk with the 25 limit?
To sign and place....I'm told the kid has zero chance of qualifying.
Does Auburn have as much success in magically getting kids eligible who otherwise have zero chance as their evil kin?
Auburn has a better chance of getting a #1 seed in the NCAA tourney this year than Griffin has of qualifying. A&M still has 2 spots open in the 2013 and won't sign him. It's really a shame because he's the best athlete in Texas.
I'd be shocked if he didn't go JUCO. He's got to be a sign and place.
