That top 247 is going to change A lot between now and Feb.. There are a ton of kids that still haven't been properly evaluated plus you still have summer camps, senior years and all-star games. In the end, the coaches know what they are looking for. Cam Cameron has 11 years in the NFL, he knows talent when he sees it so I trust him.
One more thing, guys like Quinn, Speedy and Dupre have now been recruited for over a year. These aren't new guys on the scene. They've been recruited longer than some guys that signed in this past class. They know everything they need to know about LSU. That tells me 2 things:
1) They still haven't seen what they are looking for.
2) They want to play the game and get the attention, vacations and etc.. If its this, then they should go ahead and commit. As long as they are honest with Miles, he will let them go see other schools.
With the way the way the SEC west is growing and odd things like Ole miss signing a top 5 class keep happening, you better be locking down the best talent you can. Pretty soon, there will be A LOT of very talented starters and the talent coming off the bench will decide more than just the Alabama/Florida games.

So they are driving then? Good lord. I sure hope he is committing at this point or I might be a little ticked if I was his parent
WOW, that's quite a haul from NJ. I've driven from PA once and it is a long trip, but no better way for the young man to spend Easter vacation!
Maybe so, but these guys at the top of the list aren't gonna change much. Dupre is gonna be there. One thing that makes them not want to commit now is that they want to enjoy the recruiting process, visit the schools all over the country who treat them like kings. After all, these are still kids! They don't think like adults. For me, I'd wait on guys like Noil, Dupre, and Quinn. They are worth the wait! One other thing: we don't know the whole story. Some of the kids might have already told Miles their decisions, but aren't ready for it to be known yet.
If the coaches think he is that talented, you go ahead and take the commitment from Saeed.
You're right they may have made their intentions known to the staff, which is why it'll be interesting to see if Blacknall is accepted as a commit. If so, either the staff is taking more WRs than we guessed or the staff doesn't feel good about someone we've all assumed is a lock. I'm not pushing for this kid to take anyone's spot, I'm just interested to see how all of the pieces to the puzzle will fit together.
He is in the top 247.
WR is a pretty big need for this class when you think about it. Leslie's status is up in the air and he could be a one year guy if he even qualifies, Landry and Beckham are eligible and could be tempted to try the NFL since neither are likely to be 1st round guys even if they stay for their senior year bc of physical limitations, Williams and Fobbs look like transfers. Wright and Boone are graduating
I can also see how LB could be a big need. I don't think Feist, Melvin Jones or Beckwith end up at LB for LSU.
I can't wait to see how this class shakes out but I think it will end up the best in LSU history.
With offers from flor st and ohio st. Not bad schools to have an offer from.
That's awesome. I thought you sat next to them on a flight part of the way down.
They really liked you guys, didn't they? Are the rest of your family LSU fans too? Kid was probably impressed that someone in Alabama is an LSU fan too. Showed them LSU is more than just a Louisiana thing.
Thanks for being a likeable guy Mr. Beasley!
Proud to support everything Louisiana
