have you heard anything about this ?
I haven't but can check with our UT guys to see if there is anything to it. Pretty quick exit if he does leave, huh?
I may be in the minority, but I would take him back
I don't talk badly about recruits, respect their decisions to go elsewhere when handled with class. But the way he intentionally misled and lied to our staff and allowed his mentor to play games.... Screw him, he gets what he deserves IMO. To do what he did to our staff on NSD was the ultimate classless POS move. Just my opinion
I couldn't agree more with your sentiments.
Does he still count as North Louisiana?
He let his HS coach take advantage so he could get a job.
Dude can finish out his career at ULM and live in NLA peace.
"They're on our left, they're on our right, they're in front of us, they're behind us....They can't get away this time." Chesty Puller
Y'all are crazy! What he did was wrong but hell, we all did screwed up dumb stuff when we were his age. Many of us had to eat a big piece or 2 of humble pie in our team and he is no different.
If he really wants to be a Tiger then he should walk on to this team and earn his scholarship back. Just like anyone else who screws up, they have to earn that trust back and that's what w should do.
He ha the ability and we have the coaches to get him to the next level. All he needs to do is suck it up, pay one year out of his own pocket and earn his way back on to the team. If he does that, I can respect that.
I'd take him in a minute. Fantastic edge rusher. Best in the class last year imo. That siad, I'm not buying this rumor. He finally got playing time at the end of the year and actually looked pretty good.
Who said he wanted to come to LSU, maybe just getting out of UT is what he may want?
So little time, so much to do
I'm for the screw him side!
11, this is a scenario I could live with. But really, do we need to go after people like this when we have such a great class coming in. I like to focus on all the good things we're doing for the next class, and let history be history.
Davis looked about as good as the other UT back ups that were trying to replace Okafor and Jeffcoat once they went down...The whole defense was butter soft by the end of the year for the Horns, who are a dispirited program right now to say the least, so it's hard to get a read on how good he can be.
He needs a lot of work to beat out a Rasco, or Hunter, but that is what maturing and weight room and conditioning work can do.
I believe this kid listened to his coach's spin in HS and his coach was bought and paid for.
He obviously burnt bridges in the way he handled it and a lot of that was coach influence and naivety and very bad personel desicion. I don't know that LSU wants or needs him even with a likely gap at DE with attrition.
I would take Neal and Herron both over him if all of them came out the same year, but that's just me.
Regards to All,
Isn't the high school coach that orchestrated the charade now the DC at St. Augustine?
This was my initial feeling but if THE STAFF SAW A NEED FOR HIM then I wouldn't want to slam the door on him. I don't know if any of this is even true but I guess for me it depends on the circumstances of why he is unhappy there and wants to leave as well. If I were on the staff the burden would be on him to convince me as to why LSU should take him back. I doubt this happens anyway.
I wouldn't take him at the expense of any of our current commitments / recruits. However, the kid was 18 years old and changed his decision - with a lot of outside influence mind you. If he would want to earn his way on, then no problem here. I hold no hard feelings towards him regardless.
I'm there to play for the team, not myself.". DS
