just got a big boost. Johnny Heisman, and just a freshman. What a tool to draw in top players!
Didn't work out so much for Florida. Their skill position talent actually dropped off after Tebow won it as a sophomore.
imo, LSU recruits Texas a lot more successfully than Florida......hope I'm wrong but I think it will affect our recruiting. We'll see...
It got a huge boost by just joining the SEC. Now with the success the first year in the SEC, no one wants to realize that A&M will be very very good. Their 2014 class is going to be very good and already off to a good start. Hoza is theirs as well
I don't think that's the case at all. Some are just more ready to quake in their boots than others. The issue with A&M has never been about being "good". It's always been about how often they can be championship caliber. They're riding a wave right now, but that wave will crest if they go 8-4 next year behind a rebuilt offensive line.
I do somewhat agree with that but they will get to the point (especially if UT is down) where they are reloading. Too much talent in that state. The kids have an option to stay home and play in the SEC hence hurting lsus Texas recruiting somewhat
I think the biggest difference I'm seeing is the level of commitment from President Bowtie. They are upgrading facilities in a major way. Brand new weight/nutrition building. Kyle Field is being rebuilt to the tune of $600 million starting after the 2013.
There is a total commitment to excellence now that was precipitated by the move to the SEC. They're willing to make changes that they weren't willing to make before. Lots of good ol' boys to keep happy in the past. Now it's about doing what it takes to win. Totally different attitude, IMO.
I think even if the Aggies fall off a little next year, they'll rebound quickly and continue trending upward. I think they're here to stay.
I thought he meant Tebow winning the Heisman didn't seem to help Florida's recruiting afterward.
Heisman or not, A&M was going to be a force in recruiting. They were quietly recruiting well under Sherman and Sumlin will take it up a notch. I think LSU will be fine in Texas.
We lose our center on the OL but have a great backup and then we more than likely will lose Joeckel but 3 of the 5 starting OL will be back. Next year we will be a major threat for the NC especially is if D. Moore and Joeckel come back.
