Speaking of refs, what did JC Copeland do to draw that huge 15 yard penalty? They did not show it on the big screen at the game.
There was a pretty obvious cheap shot by Fluker on Mingo after he swatted down a pass that didn't draw a flag. That and a hild here and there were the only things I can think of off hand that should have been called but weren't, but sometimes it's hard to tell in the stadium.

Copeland took out a defenseless player at the end of the play. He wiped out the CB #13. Can't argue that call but if you call that you need to throw the flag on Fluker. Also believe someone threw a punch at Copeland earlier in the game.
There were a couple of really bad holding calls that were not flagged. Worst was when Eugene was grabbed by the shoulder and completely turned around on the blitz during the last drive. Logan was held on the TD screen.
There was also some interference that should have been called on Milliner.
Officiating did not impact the outcome but they were not going to call holding and Fluker held on for dear life all night.
I don't hate often, but when I do, I prefer Alabama, USC or Notre Dame.
I still don't know what Copeland was thinking...the play was over and he took a 10 yard running start and just blasted a Bama player who was just standing there 20 yards from where the ball was. I think he has done this or something similar before.
That block in the back call early on Beckham's punt return was very poor as well. I was watching with three non-LSU fans and they all thought that was a terrible call. To be fair, I did think the Offensive Pass Interference call against Bama was pretty questionable as well. But since it was the ONLY penalty assessed against them all night and the receiver was pulling the DB by the shoulder pads I think it was probably a good call (normally I would say it should have been a no call).
