A lot of folks including myself have made comments regarding some of the players and their tweets. I have always thought it's their opinions and account so let them enjoy it. But accountability has to be stressed to them that once comments are "out there" the world will know.
Russell Sheperd made a tweet last night around 1130pm.
Shortly thereafter he was tweeted by Coach Thomas McGaughey to go to bed.
Sheperd responded with yes sir.
I at least am glad to know that evidently there is some monitoring of sorts by the staff on what and how much these guys say on Twitter.
I dont follow him on Twitter but someone I do follow retweeted some comments of his today and I went and saw his comments.
As far as him getting so many carries tonight......his last night game in Tiger Stadium was tonight and he said he was almost in tears about it. Miles must have done that on purpose.

I know he doesnt have the best hands, but I like the fact that they found ways to get the ball in his hands.. I wish they would have gotten the ball to him more this year
Man, I'm really sad to see Shep leave. The dude was so cool and a great talent. He was a true tiger and his leadership should never be underestimated. It seems like yesterday he was the highest rated QB to ever choose LSU. Its sad that he never threw a pass as a tiger but it is what it is. I hope he gets some sort of shot in the NFL, and if he doesnt make it I hope he gets a good job in wherever his life takes him. I would love for him to get a job in the athletic department. I really appreciate everything he has done for Louisiana State University!

I think Shep has a future in coaching. Hopefully down the line if the NFL doesn't work out, he'll return to LSU and begin a career there. Can you imagine what kind of recruiter Shep would make as an assistant coach?
Nowhere in my contract does it say I gotta make a fool out of myself, am I right?
Hed be a helluva recruiter I think.
I'm a big fan and critic of Shep and have always been proud of his representation of the team. I just wish our staff would've figured out 4 years ago that the slash type RB role was always the role that suited him best. He could've really provided a change of pace and some misdirection during his career if he'd have been utilized that way his entire career. That's the way it goes sometimes but regardless I hope for nothing but the best for Russell the rest of this year and throughout the rest of his life.
I think that LSU has so much talent that the coaches can't figure out what to do with it. A great problem to have, but unfortunately, Shep was one of those talents.
Russell came up to me last night after the game with a bloody lip and a huge smile and said "that was some fun."
His attitude has been in waves the past four years, but he is ending things the right way.
Arguably one of the most involved recruiters and ambassadors of LSU that the team has had in a looooooong time.

Russell was a fun kid to follow and get to know in the recruiting process. If the NFL doesn't work out he will be highly successful in whatever he does.
Why is Sheperd not playing against Ole Miss?
He is. It was just senior day and his last night game in Tiger Stadium.
That makes sense. Thanks
