What in the world happened to Jalen Mills ...
I dont want to sound negative on Collins but how did he make all freshman over Mills. Only way I can chalk it up is mistaken identity being that they are both named Jalen.
Mills played his butt off this year ... not to say Collins didnt have a few good moment but Mills IMO was far superior in the secondary.

I agree...Collins did decent. .but not on the same level as Mills
I agree. Collins has great length and had some flashes of brilliance but Mills was a consistent player. Sure, like any freshman would, he was beat a couple of times but looking at his total body of work should have him first team.
"You can learn more character on the two-yard line than anywhere else in life." - Former LSU Coach and AD Paul Dietzel
Its funny as I think about this time last year, when I was looking at our commitments highlight films, how impressed I was with this little 3 star kid who had just transfered into big power house Desoto for his senior season. Desoto already had a highly recruited CB that has commited to Texas but on film I could just see how much more college ready Mills was over his teammate and the rest of our DB commits.
Mills was so fluid and smooth in his transitions in coverage that it almost looked as though he was a polished college veteran. I dont know who his coaches were at Lancaster and Desoto but they did a phenomenol job at teaching this kid technique that obviously paid off when he arrived at LSU.
Mills is going to be a special player at LSU and outside of Jeremy Hill to me he was the best freshman that played for the Tigers this year.
Yea i think the SEC coaches got their Jalen's mixed up,lord knows Jim Hawthorne on the radio play by play did a million times this year!
LOL, I thought you mistyped the title of your post at first... very strange!

Mills is 28 and Collins 32 correct? 28 played lights out, 32 spent much of the year chasing his man.
