If we win Saturday and then win 2 games in the SEC tournament that would put us at 21 wins. We've only lost twice at home if that makes a difference. I feel like we could upset someone in the bracket.
Be Here Now
With an RPI that was #91 going into the A&M game, I doubt that goes up much. Same goes with a win over Ole Miss that could close the regular season at 19-10 overall and 10-8 in SEC play.
You would have to think they would have to make it to the conference finals and finish 22-11 to have a shot. If they bowed out in the semifinals it would leave them 21-11 and I don't think that would get them in.
SouthofSouth is all over it and I'm sure he will break it down more for us.

Due to the fact that the sec is weak in basketball I say we gotta win the sec tourney. JMO
I see only Missouri and Florida making the tourney (and the tourney winner if it ain't one of those two)
We would have to win the SEC Tournament. But we are in a great position to possibly host an NIT game. It would be exciting and getting the young guys more practice time is always a plus.
Hosting an NIT game in CJJ's first year would be great. I would think that it would be a great building block for the future.
I love watching our guys play. For a casual basketball fan, it's a fun style to watch. Now if only we could hit 70%+ of our FTs

We have to win the SEC tourny. That's the only way.
We haven't won the SEC tourny since 1981, so we're due

If only we could play those first 4 sec games over. Those 4 losses are the reason lsu has to win the sec tournament to get into the big dance
Completely agree... if we beat Auburn, USCe, and UGA in the beginning of the year then I think we may have a good shot at making the tourney. But I dont see us getting into the big dance with those 3 losses, unless we win the SEC tourney as mentioned above.
Proud to support everything Louisiana
The RPI is what's killing them too so do you think wins over those three would make a big change with that RPI?
I agree. Those wins would have put us on the bubble, but we really would have had to beat Florida or Marquette to have a shot. LSU doesn't have any terrible losses, but it doesn't have any good wins either. Our resume is meh in a conference that's meh. Still a much better season than I expected. I really just want to beat OM on Saturday and shut that douche bag Henderson up.
RPI isn't killing us as much as our big losses vs big wins IMO. LSU has those bad losses which are holding them back. Our RPI is in line with other bubble teams. Some bubble teams and their RPI:
Maryland RPI 84
Arizona St 93
The problem most see is that we are 1-5 vs top 50 RPI and we have those bad losses to 200+ RPI teams (S Carolina 204, Auburn 234). Our RPI is between 80-82 depending on who's RPI you use.

LSU just sent an email out saying they bid on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round NIT games! Meaning if we are a decent seed, we will get at least 1 more home game! Really excited.
Beating OM and going 2 wins over.500 with the talent on this roster is probably the best coaching job I have seen at LSU in the past decade. Alot of that goes to the players, and some goes to it being a meh year in the SEC as stated; but seriously we have a freaking ex-tuba player that came in on a band scholie contributing 15+ minutes a game. C'mon man.

RPI would be up because we wouldn't have those bad losses on our record. I don't necessarily think the wins would boost our RPI, but taking away those bad losses definitely would.
This would be huge for them to be able to host a game. The PMAC would certainly be more packed than it has been all season.

Would be a great springboard into next season if they could host an NIT game. If nothing else from an enthusiasm standpoint.
