I can't understand why the LSU staff is offering evey WR under the sun except Cameron Sims. His film looks better then those offered lately and all the knock on his speed appears way off. In years where Louisianna lacks good recievers they offer lower tier guys cause they can't even get out of state guys to commit to LSU. BUT when you have 4 studs in state, you decide to skip out on one just to offer lower tier WRs out of state? I just don't get it... What happen to keeping it Louisianna recruits first? Cause that's how you build you program and keep it great. From the inside-out.
he went to camp and said he did bad
"Working out for the coaches is different than working out back home, so that's something I'll have to get used to and be better with. I felt like it was one of those things where I didn't catch enough balls to show off my true talent.
"In the future, I'll be better out there. I think I just had some bad reps."
"In the SEC,you're a glorified run support guy.In the Big 12, you're a cover guy."-Bobby Burton asking why DBs go SEC
This whole debate is silly, there is clearly something the coaches are hesitant about with Sims and everyone needs to calm down on this front. The situation will work itself out this summer when Sims works out for the coaches again.
"They're on our left, they're on our right, they're in front of us, they're behind us....They can't get away this time." Chesty Puller
Unless Upchurch pulls the trigger before then. That would probably kill any chance Sims has of an offer (of course depending on the fate of Noil, Dupre, Quinn)
Also, depending on how "commitable" his offer is at this point. I have a feeling he still has to come to camp and work out again with the other guys before he is able to pull the trigger. It may be 100% commitable but I have my doubts.
However, I definately wouldn't view it as a bad thing if we landed Upchurch. He is a versatile player and I actually like his film.
I think the LSU fanbase needs to come to realization that Cameron Sims is not going to get an offer this go around. Its obvious by the OOS offers that the staff is looking out of state for that final WR after (Noil, Quinn, and Dupree). Im really hoping that we get Saeed Blacknall out of NJ to go with the instate guys offered.
WR D. WIlliams (Juco)
That would be the ideal pickups for me this year leaving room for Noil to have a choice of O or D and taking Williams, which is a no brainer take, if he qualifies.

Now if only the recruiting analyists would agree with you and those present at that camp! I think if Trey did the combine thing more and reproduced that performance in front of others, perhaps he would be ranked higher.
nah hes too white
Think you may be right on this one. Figured he would get one, since the race for C Robinson is so close and they are good friends. Interesting how 2 WRs have a 4.6 40 time according to 247, but only the out of state kid has an offer from LSU. Agree with op regarding keeping kids in state, especially when rated in top 247-300 by all 4 major recruiting services. Hope it all works out for the young man, especially with how he sounded all for LSU initially.

Upchurch looked fast in his video
Yea, I'm anxious to see him run at LSU's camp this summer to get a better gauge of that. But on film he looks faster than a 4.6
