----Have been away for a day but don't remember this being discussed. Has anyone ever announced a top four at an all-star game before? Is Willis going to have seven or eight caps there on a table and knock three or four off the table? Pull the four contenders out of a gym bag? Just wear sweat bands from four team? Socks?
Tempe Marcos de Niza senior defensive back Priest Willis will cut his list of colleges to four during the Under Armour All-American Game in Florida on Jan.4. He leaves late next week for the game.
Willis’ stepfather, Mike Walker, who helps Willis’ recruiting, had previously said that Priest was going to declare during the Under Armour game, “but he’s not 100 percent sure now.”
Willis had a great visit to Lousiana State last weekend.
LSU appears to be among his four. Arizona State, Notre Dame, Nebraska, UCLA, Virginia, Florida State and possibly Southern California are among those in the mix for Willis, who made azcentral sports‘ All-Arizona team.
Are you serious just pick a school will ya,geesh!
Setting a new precedent? I wonder how much ESPN did behind the scenes to try and get him to do something, anything to help with the drama and their ratings?
Yeah, heavy I'm with you on this one. It sounds pretty anti-climactic. I'm going to guess: LSU, ASU, UCLA and Nebraska. I get being undecided but you don't need to announce the final four at a game where players commit to a team.
I think Willis is a good kid but the announcement is unnecessary.
Has anyone seen list of players that will commit during the Army and UA games? Rivals hasn't updated Army player list since early Oct. It still shows D. Smith as uncommitted. Beckwith and Bain are 2 that will announce at UA plus the 4 hat shell game with Priest Willis.
They are probably helping him put together whatever type of presentation he'll go with. Wouldn't let just anybody get away with changing from an announcement to a final four. Only a highly regarded kid. Having traditional powers like USC, Notre Dame, LSU, Nebraska, FSU and UCLA involved goes a long way. Too bad they couldn't get Texas and Bama added in before the game.
I see this as a good thing. He was set to announce at the UA game until his LSU visit. Now he is confused. Sounds like LSU impressed him the most.

Those that have been around long enough and have paid close attention to the innerworkings of how these televised announcements work know how much pressure is put on some of those kids to announce. Quite a few instances where the kid wasn't really ready to do so but the pressure got to them. I'm no fan of it all and if I were a parent of one of these kids I'd make damn sure that anyone associated with ESPN, NBC or any other affiliate having anything to do with the production went directly through me when it pertains to my child. They do everything they can to circumvent any complications with their production and ratings.
Agree completely.....It's not about the kids and giving them their day in my opinion. It's more about their ratings and I know for a fact of how much pressure they put on kids, coaches, and parents when it comes to making these decisions on their stage.
