You can NOT . . .
Say that Stud/Miles are incompetent AND Saban is the greek god of defense after LSU ran 85 plays, had a 300 yard passer and 100 yard rusher, averaged 5 yards per play, converted 10 of 20 3rd downs, possessed the ball for 39 minutes and outgained Bama by 100 yards.
Say that coaching cost us the game without acknowledging that coaching overcame an 11-point deficit and put us in a position to win the game with less than 2 minutes to play.
Say that coaching won the game for Bama without acknowledging that coaching allowed them to blow an 11-point lead due to offensive ineptness (and an inability to stop LSU on third down) that required flawless execution of the two minute drill, minus some holding that would have really set them back had it been called.
Say that coaching is holding the LSU program back without acknowledging for some reason this team has shown dramatic improvement over the last 4 games despite losing 3 starters on the offensive line. I think we can all agree that this team has not simply been watching motivational videos for the last two weeks.
Actually you can say whatever you want - rarely does logic prevent those who must blame someone else for their own disappointment. However, by doing so, you confirm what Paul Finebaum said before the game yesterday - no fan base in the country turns on its program faster than LSU whenever something doesn't go their way.
I'm disappointed that LSU did not win last night, but I am proud that we outplayed the best team in the country with a first year starter at QB and two freshmen on the right side of the O-line, and a 6 year senior on the left side of the O-line who probably shouldn't even be playing football. We beat them with a three freshmen in the secondary who were unexpectedly forced into starting roles and a freshman at linebacker who still is not sure what he is doing out there. We beat them with a freshmen running back. Sophomore receivers and a sophomore at LG. We were not close to full strength and gave them all they could handle. Logic demands that someone deserves credit for that and I am open to suggestions.
I choose to believe that our program re-established itself last night as one of the elite programs in the country. LSU is alive and well. Our future is very bright and last night validated that we can stand toe-to-toe with anyone in the country, including mighty Alabama and their coaching staff that is allegedly leap years ahead of our staff. You can't say our coaching is so inferior to Bama unless you believe our talent is so superior Bama and you simply can't say that our talent is so superior that we can lose 4 starters on offense and 3 starters on defense in a season and still have talent that far exceeds our foe, which unfortunately is the envy of many a LSU fan. Others choose to believe that blaming Miles, Stud or Chavis will somehow ease the pain that we share as a collective fan base, but we all seem to forget how much greater the pain is for the coaching staff and players. I'm sure a fan base that turns on a program that left it on the field last night only serves to intensify that pain. The players and staff turned it loose last night and left it on the field but Bama proved to be fortunate and credit the other elite program for finding a way to win a game they lost everywhere but the final scoreboard.
Also, the best thing about freshmen and sophomores is when they become juniors and seniors. No need to look over your shoulder Bama. That's Tiger breath you feel and we are right on your big elephant ass.
I don't hate often, but when I do, I prefer Alabama, USC or Notre Dame.
Easily the best post that summarizes my post Bama thoughts. Im glad Lawge actially had the time to write it all down.
Well done, OP.

You are the man....its just a small minority of people....they are just loud and you have to stand up to them and point out thier self rationalization, lies.inacurate staments, blind hatred, leaps of logic.any logic at all and connection of dots that would make a 2 year old cringe.

great post, and I am one of the few on here (it seems) to really understand and appreciate how good our coach really is.. as young as we are this year with the experience these guys are getting we will be scary good next year but of course so will bama.. If we can win out and finish with 10 wins with this team CLM's should be considered for coach of the year again.. I love how ppl are pinning this loss on the fake fg and onside kick which didnt yield any points.. if we make the 3 instead of the fake which i think we should have done Alleman still must kick and make it late for the win and theres no guarantee he makes it if we dont go for the fake.. Our 2 minute defense didnt do well at all, imo thats due to youth on defense.. the coaches will improve that.. Even though most coaches would have ran the ball to eat the clock and kick it.. I felt like Mett shouldve been given the chance to throw for that final 1st down to win it..
Lawge hit a frigging grand slam on this one! THIS man, Lawge, deserves one of those "comps" ya'll were offering this weekend for best pics. It's level-heads such as this that keep many of us from giving up our subs after listening to the incessant whining by so much of our fan-base.
My hat's off to ya bro!!! It's mighty difficult to stay/find positives after last nights loss. You found a classy way to do both apparently.
Ya know, a lot of the fan-base would say we're not TRUE fans. You know what? I found out yesterday that my sister has breast cancer. I used last night as a respite from "real life." I enjoyed that game; I just didn't enjoy the outcome. I WILL enjoy this Tiger team the rest of the year, and next. I will back this coaching staff until they are no longer here. AND, I will continue to applaud posts such as this one!!! And lastly, I will NOT let this loss define my night, or week or life!!!
