Fournette To Give Michigan A Look
BEAVERTON, Ore. – Five-star Michigan commit Jabrill Peppers is trying to make something magical happen for the Wolverines on the recruiting trail.
The blue-chip Peppers is trying to lure another big-time prospect, New Orleans (La.) St. Augustine running back Leonard Fournette to Ann Arbor.
Thanks to some outstanding timing, it looks like the 6-foot ½, 225-pound Fournette will get a chance to visit the Michigan campus the weekend of July 12.
Ranked by the 247Composite as the nation’s No. 1 prospect overall, Fournette will be in Cleveland that weekend for a 7-on-7 tournament and plans to shoot up to Michigan while he’s in the area.
“Me and Jabrill had a talk about it and I talked to my father about going up there, so I decided to take a visit up there,” Fournette said at The Opening on Wednesday afternoon.
Fournette has seen how well Michigan has recruited this year, and likes what he’s heard from Peppers.
“He said take a visit, see how it is and try something new,” Fournette said.
Alabama and LSU are considered the favorites for Fournette, who doesn’t know much about Michigan at this point.
“That’s why I’m going up there, to take a visit and see how I like it,” he said.
Alabama and LSU are considered the favorites for the nations top RB prospect in Leonard Fournette, but the Wolverines will get a crack to move up from long-shot status.
If he goes there He'll need a pair of skis to get around during the fall and winter. I'm not too sure he'll be fond of that.
