  • I haven't had to listen to an LSU game on the radio in quite a while, but tonight I did and I've got to tell you Jim has lost his touch. Either he can't see the players on the field or he is just senile, but he can't keep up with the game. He has trouble picking up player's numbers, calls them by the wrong name, had us playing Utah at one point tonight. To be honest I couldn't tell where we were on the field. He would say the ball was down on the 11 and it would be the 25 or the pass was batted down, but then intercepted and run back for a TD. I've always enjoyed Jim's broadcasts and I don't expect him to be perfect, but geez after tonight it may be time to look to a younger and sharper broadcaster.

LC, he has been very bad for a while now. He no longer calls the game as it is happening. He watches it and you have to wait for Doug Moreau to explain the play after it happens

  • Jim is bad in football but worse in baseball. He should retire from announcing both.

At least in baseball, it is slow enough to correct and there are only a few options, ie ball, strike, hit, So etc. Football has become too fast and he has become a spectator watching the games instead of calling them. When I had Sirius, I actually listened to the other teams broadcast to figure out what is going on. I listened to the games with Hawthorne, then watch the highlights and think he must have been calling the ULL game, because they are nothing like he called. He has also turned into a bit of a cry baby and complainer on the radio. I actually think listening to Doug Moreau, that Doug feels a little embarased for him.
