Get the "ESPN App" on your phone and list LSU basketball as one of your "teams".. You can set it to where it will alert you when the game starts, any LSU b-ball news, alert you the score after each quarter and/or the game.. And the stats.

That's what I use and there's a bunch of times when it sends me an alert a game has started when I had no idea they were playing.

EDIT: It's a free app too... You can list all of your favorite teams and it will alert you on what you want it to alert you on as I mentioned before.. Game Start, News, score after each quarter if you want and final score.. Great App that I use regularly

  • Another big night for Coleman with 22.
Perusing the stats, missed free throws are concerning. We had a 15+ lead midway through the 2nd half that they cut to 5 or 6.

  • I put up a thread on Tigerdroppings. I linked at bottom if you want to see some graphs that I can't get to post on here...

The LSU Tigers (3-0) scored over 100 points for the first time since November 2005 as they beat the late surging Demons (3-1) 102 to 95. Shavon Coleman led the team with 22 points in his second straight 20-point game. Three other players scored in double figures; Johnny O’Bryant (13 pts, 6 reb), Charles Carmouche (19 pts, 4 ast, 3 stl), and Anthony Hickey (21 pts CAREER HIGH, 7 reb, 6 ast, 5 stl). The Tigers shot 32 of 66 from the floor (48.5%), 9 of 25 from beyond the arc (36%), and 29 of 51 from the charity stripe (56.9%).

LSU looked to be in control up over 20 points in the second half before slowing the pace of the game. The Tigers tried to hold the ball rather than attack on offense and it backfired. The pressure of Northwestern was able to affect the Tigers and a slow but continual comeback occurred. The Demons had the deficit down to 4 points before the Tigers were able to start hitting free throws.

The game was plagued by foul trouble. Every LSU forward ended the game with at least 4 personal fouls; besides Jalen Courtney who did not play. Note: I must eat crow. Andrew Del Piero gave the Tigers strong minutes. He deserves my apology as well as anyone who I have chastised for believing he is the answer. Del Piero came in with 10 minutes left in the first half and scored 4 points, had a block, and 2 rebounds in the first half. He finished the game with 6 minutes of very important time logged. I am not sure why Courtney did not play but Jones did say that everyone was a little dinged up from a hard week of practice.

While the free throw shooting was less than spectacular (29 of 51), the team hit 10 of their last 14 to put the game away. The Tigers came into the game 345th out of 346 and leave the game 343rd in the country at 51.6% on the year. The Tigers continue to be near the top in Steal % stealing the ball on 17.5% of possessions (6th in nation), and offensive rebound %; 49.6% of missed shots offensively rebounded (4th in country).

The Tigers next game is on Saturday, Nov 24th in the PMAC at 7PM vs Mississippi Valley State.
