Another example of why I'm very proud to call Les Miles the leader of our LSU football program. Sure there are things to complain about with him but that's the case with any coach. I couldn't think of a better man and better leader to have heading our program. Think about the current status and standing of our program. It's never been in better shape than it is currently. From talent to organization, the LSU football program is in the best position it has ever been in. Saban deserves all the credit for building the foundation but where Les has taken the program is as good as any coach could've done. We're in the golden years of the program and I hope all of you are cherishing it and really grasping the era that we're in right now. It will not be this way forever so take it in while it lasts.

Dawg fan here. Just have to say that CLM brings excitement to the game and in the locker room. Great recruiter, and one hell of a motivational speaker. He is definitely SEC quality. Good luck the
rest of the year guys. Damn I miss New Orleans.

Man, what a great statement (and general philosophy)! I am definitely going to use this again.

    Lawd today!

    Exactly!

Do I want more? Yes! Will Les work on things and get even better? I hope so. Will I let my desire for more make me miserable with this incredible run LSU is on? Absolutely not. I strive to never let the perfect be the enemy of the good. They are companions, not rivals, for our affections.clap

    Great post.

  • I don't care whether it was contrived or disturbing and I'm not talking about wanting the HC fired. But I think the national hoopla over that speech/performance blinded (perhaps by design?) a piss-poor performance vs. Ole Miss. A team who lost at home to Vanderbilt the week before comes to Tiger Stadium on senior day in front of a national CBS audience when LSU is ranked #7 and it takes a punt return for us to beat them by a touchdown? Not impressive at all. Should have drilled them by 3TDs minimum.

  • Ole piss lives for this games almost as much as much as the Miss State game, It was there super bowl. Everytime we play them at home its a barn burner. Some on this board just live to complain.

You are so pitiful. I love the way our coach cares about and sticks up for his players. While I sometimes get frustrated with some coaching decisions on the field, I never question Coach Miles' feelings and devotion to his players or my alma mater. He is who he is and I am happy that Les Miles is the coach at LSU. You criticize LSU coaches in other sports. Just pick another school to root for and be happy.

TNT needs to find some other activity. He is in constant negativity drive, and is one of CLM's persistant critics. He had a following on another site, and is looking for one here. He just needs to shut up, go away, and root for Bama on the Bama site.

    Come on Robert, lighten up.

The margin of victory over Ole Miss the past eight or so years has probablly been single digit.

I think Miles was primed by an attack on one of his players, the emotions of senior night, the weight of a tough season, and the eaking out of a win over a team take was prepared to play. I, also, think this LSU team is drained, tired, and beatup.

We didn't see this much hoopla when Tuperville smacked a head set and hat off his GA or when Pelini cussed out a player or ...

BTW, Vanderbilt defeated Tennessee and is bowl bound.

Agree, LSU had the horsepower to drill Ole Miss. But I'd give credit to Freese and the Webels for coming to play.
Posters here wanted to discount Ole Miss as a rivial - LSU will always be a Ole Miss rival - for them.

SEC football isn't the NFL or a video or board game. Emotion and momentum can never be discounted.

This season - the one we waited for - will be over in four days.

Arkansas lives for it even more and usually has their best game of the season against LSU. Most years it has actually meant something to both teams. This year it won't because they suck. I doubt most LSU players think a 4-7 Arkansas team that lost to ULM has a chance.

I don't think this LSU team has ever turned the page from 2011 and gone on to a this year. Regardless of how many new starters there are, too many of them think they can just show up, fiddle around with their opponent, play hard late and win. Worked like that several times last year and a couple of times this year.

Les needs to do everything he can to get the team ready to play Friday. This speech may have been a great start.

And usc shouldnt have lost 4 games, tenn shouldnt be win less in the sec, bama should not lose to a&m, kstate had no business losing baylor, etc.

dont even get me started on auburn, we could have chizik, a guy people would rather have had over miles after 2010.

This team needs to come ready to play, the turn it on and off button is going to bite us in the butt.
