Enjoyed this thread. RB is the one position we normally do not have to worry about at LSU. The last time I remember worrying about RB was when Vincent Fuller was moved from safety to RB and ended up starting with Odell Beckham. That was back in 1991 and had Germaine "Juice" Williams not been a complete bust and had James Jacquet not run into issues, we would have been fine.
Biggest criticism I have had of the offensive strategy the last several years has not been involving the tight ends and running backs in the passing game. Herb Tyler proved you can win a lot of games with nothing but a short passing game. Allows the QB to find a rhythm and complete high percentage passes.
Favorite group of LSU running backs was 1982:
Dalton Hilliard - Saints
Garry James - Lions
Gene Lang - Broncos
Jesse Myles - Broncos
Eric Martin - moved to SE due to depth (Saints)
Herman Fontenot - moved to FL due to depth (Browns)
Gil Fenerty (Saints) actually transferred from LSU before the season.
I don't hate often, but when I do, I prefer Alabama, USC or Notre Dame.
