So does that mean he was not prepared to attack the LSU defense the rest of the 2nd half? What coach doesn't study their opponent's 2 minute defense? Credit Bama for a great screen call on the game winning TD. Barrett Jones had two hands of Logan's jersey on the play while he was bringing pressure up the middle. A play or two earlier a believe it was Fluker who reached out and grabbed Micah Eugene who was coming free inside on the blitz. Bama made the plays at the end of the game and there was not going to be a holding call because we all know how Bama plays with such great "discipline". Saban does not allow them to hold.
Saban had defeat written all of his face in the 4th quarter. No need to idolize him because he did what every coach does before a game. Credit the Bama players for executing and again a great screen call. If Saban made that call, which he most likely did not, he deserves the credit.
There was nothing wrong with LSU's scheme. You play soft early and bring pressure as they get into field goal range. If there is a desire to praise Saban for that drive, then you need to criticize him for allowing LSU's anemic passing game to come alive, repeatedly allowing 3rd and long conversions, and allowing a 100 yard rusher. You need to criticize his offensive prowess for managing -1 yard passing in the second half up to the last drive. You can't have it both ways.
I don't hate often, but when I do, I prefer Alabama, USC or Notre Dame.
