OT: What is your 2nd favorite college and pro teams.

NCAA - Tigers through and through. No such thing as a second team. Haha. But I guess I'd say, I do pull for SEC teams in non-conf games.... NFL - Saints for sure. Grew up in NO, but these chumps tend to upset me more than make me happy. Haha NBA - eh, no real Fav. I guess the Hornets MLB - Braves. Growing up in NO, it was either Braves, Astros or Cubs. In early 90s Braves were the way to go!!

I prefer all levels of college sports over the pro counterpart however including baseball and basketball with college football being an obvious Fav.

Right. I was into the Braves when it was some of the only baseball on TV every night. Back when they had Lemke, Blauser, Smoltz, Maddux, Avery, Justice, etc. I don't really watch MLB anymore.

Those were the days! Even still, nothing chills me out after a stressful day at work like coming home and catching the Bravos on TV (with the sound off, of course; can't stand Chip and Joe) while I make dinner and listen to some tunes.

  • guess I'm in the minority, but I've never understood having a second favorite college team, unless it's any team that plays alabama.

I don't know your background, but I can see where a lifelong LSU fan from Louisiana might not understand. There's really nothing else to know, no reason to root for anyone else. But for those of us from out of state before LSU was on TV regularly, it's not hard to develop another hometown childhood favorite team that we also grew up watching in addition to LSU (especially if there are family ties). If it came down to it, I'd pull for LSU over Memphis every time, but they are not really a threat in anything except basketball anyway (and it allows me to double up on my hatred of Ole Miss, Arkansas and Tennessee).

  • I live in Louisiana - so:
    LSU, then LSU
    Saints
    Hornets
    We have no baseball team

That is a good way to look at it. I had never lived in Louisiana until I went to school at LSU. I was never really a fan of any college because my family moved 6 times while I was in school from California to Florida.

  • I am first and foremost LSU but I am also retired Navy so I always pull for the Naval Academy as well. Not as passionate...but I pull for them...for that matter I pull for the other military academies as well.

My grandfather was a Braves fan, so I grew loving them, even when they sucked. I wore the #3 my whole life because of Dale Murphy.

Well, I for one, am Iowan through and through. I'll always been from Iowa and look forward to the day when I return to Iowa. I go to school here at LSU but that won't take the Iowan out of me. And LSU recruiting is probably more fun to follow than Iowa recruiting but it's also fun to watch under-rated guys that nobody else recruits be successful and go on to the NFL.

Thus, I have 2 favorite teams. However, if the two played, I'd be black and gold. For example, when they played in the Capital One bowl (which was amazing) I was thinking, until the last play, "well at least it's LSU."
