Oklahoman coming to Tiger Stadium

  • I am very proud to announce i will be making my first trip to Tiger Stadium this fall. I've had the oppurtunity to attend a game the past 3 years but haven't had the chance of making it to Baton Rouge. The plan right now is to try and make the Alabama game. But i need your opinions here, if this plan falls through and i have to pick another home game, which one should it be? The immediate response would most likely be the South Carolina game, but due to my gameday duties with ouinsider.com i wouldnt be able to attend this game because it falls on the same day as OU-Texas. Keep in mind i want to get the full effect of Tiger Stadium so please tell me which game would give the best experience.

  • Washington could be interesting on Sept. 8, but it's not the same as Bama (no game will be).

Maybe State? Maybe Ole Miss (rivalry)? Sorry, not to many good home games this year besides Bama.

  • If you had to pick between Ole Miss and Miss. State who would you go with?

Ole Miss. I know they were bad last year but there is more of a rivalry than State.

Honestly, whomever is higher ranked when we play them.

Ole Miss is always fun to screw around with though.

  • If Alabama is not avaialble; I'd say you can't go wrong with S Carolina, Ole Miss, or MissState.

South Carolina is a factor in the SEC East. Ole Miss was a major LSU rival in the 50-60's; MSU is always good enough to be a spolier.

Regardless of the opponent, I think you'll be happy in TS.

I'd say definitely Ole Miss... the LSU- Ole Miss games always seem to be a little strange

  • It will probably be hard to predict but whichever of those games ends up at night will be the best to go to.

  • There are a couple of things to take into consideration when making your decision.

#1 - You want to go to a night game in Tiger Stadium if at all possible. This is primary, no matter whom we play. There is simply a magic in Tiger Stadium on Saturday Night that cannot be described. I would love to read your write-up after you experience a night game.

#2 - Competition. Given the best of all worlds, your ideal game would be Alabama. By then LSU and 'Bama will most likely be ranked #1 and #2. This will be a true grudge game, and our Tigers will prevail. Big time! We have an obligation to erase 01/09/2012, and we will do that.

But by all means, get there early! Tiger Tailgating is hands down the best on the planet! Wander around. Introduce yourself and you will be treated like royalty. On the bayou we truly know how to 'pass a good time'!

Welcome to Death Valley on a Saturday night, My friend, You will never forget it!

+1. I used to live in Oklahoma City. Me and my ex wife brought a house in Nichols Hills,. I used to frequent Norman alot. I had a blast. The women were Gorgeous and the beer was cold. I got divorced shortly after that. lol There is no place on Earth like Tiger Stadium on Saturday Night. There is no place like Louisiana. We love to have a good time. I would suggest if there is a game to attend I would make a Saturday Night Game. Last Year we didn't really didn't have one. If we do this year I suggest a Night Game. I really like OU because ya'll can whip UT's ass for me. Go Sooners.

  • Wow you guys really have me excited about this trip. I always tell everyone around here how impressive of a scene it was during the Oregon game last year in Arlington. I was blown away by the number of fans that drove down and filled up the stadium. Even though 99% of fans here hate LSU (They say the fans were beyond brutal in the 03 Title Game) I am indeed a Tiger fan.

  • Ole Miss for sure. They will bring fans, it wont be miserably hot, and we have had some wild ones over the years. Nothing like LSU tailgating, the bad rap is really a myth. Every fanbase has a few bad apples and ill admit i was a lil harsh on some duke fans back in 06 in ATL.

  • More than welcome to stop at any of our tailgates...bama, miss, miss state will be off the chain especially for night games

Yeah that was a rowdy game. You have to realize the program was just starting to get to a championship level after such a horrible 90's. Making that game was the biggest thing that had happened to a Louisiana Football fan in forever for some and the first for others. I truly believe our fan base has grown up sense then. Now their will always be a couple of drunken lunatics but I've seen them at UT and OU also. Now you will here some Tiger Bait chants but those are mild compared to some stuff I've heard chanted to opponents at other stadiums.
