Alabama's OC, Doug Neussmier, wanted our OC position when Kragthorp was awarded the job.... Doug's wife is a Barbe High School Alum, out of Lake Charles, & he is a former N.O. Saint Backup QB. He called a masterful game 2nite, 1 we LSU fans can only dream about......
Neussmier wouldn't have the same flexibility as an OC at LSU. We know how the story goes.
What story, I have heard anything about it. Please enlighten me.
We don't have the same level of execution as this Alabama team on offense, and our coaching staff doesn't instill the same level of confidence in our players nor extrude a similar level of execution as a result.
Period point blank, its coaching on offense that's preventing us from achieving what they are.
Face facts that Les is satisfied doing what he's doing and sees no reason to change. With a BOS focused on somehow consolidating the Chancellor/System President positions, and building Jindal Memorial in New Orleans, along with a feckless AD, he [Miles] essentially rules his own roost, and no one is going to make him do anything.
Do not expect us to challenge or upset the status quo while he is here. He likes it how it is.
+1, DSTiger!!!!! Right on! Miles won't get out of the way on offense like he does on D.
DS, I agree with most of what you said, but some things stood out to me last night. Bama's talent at WR, OL, and DB is second to none and a big step ahead of ours. Some of it is coaching and definately execution/play calling. However, LSU does not have an Amari Cooper or a DJ Fluker/Barrett Jones on this team. AJ must have had at least 5 full seconds to sit back there and pick ND apart at times while Mett was lucky to get 2 seconds vs Clemson. The running gaps were huge the whole game making Lacy look like an all world RB
LSU gets rid of Studrawa and almost "magically" our OL play will improve. As far as playcalling, you can't get worse that Studrawa. The difficulty will be if we were fortunate enough to bring in an attention to detail guy he would immediately clash with Miles and Ensminger.
"In the SEC,you're a glorified run support guy.In the Big 12, you're a cover guy."-Bobby Burton asking why DBs go SEC
Proud to support everything Louisiana
