I have despised the Cotton Bowl since 1969 when they took 7-3 ND, who chose to start playing in bowl games that year over LSU to play # 1 Texas. LSU chose to not bowl that year, staying home. If A&M goes Cotton over LSU, then I can see that some things never change with those shite heads in Dallas..
However the conference affiliations and choices given to BCS Bowls, and the incredible decision to choose NIU to play in the Orange Bowl have created a brew that leaves teams completely ignored like OU for BCS and all the others including LSU..
While it is true that Joe Alleva is a bureaucratic milksop catering to Mike Slive's every decree, he and Slive has no avenue to influence a committee of the Cotton Bowl which has a well established pattern of f***ing over LSU for 43 years now. Besides, Slive is perfectly content letting A&M take the Cotton Bowl slot and forcing LSU to eat dog food.
LSU should not go to any bowl game, just like in '69. They should explain to the Poultry Bowl and to Mike Slive exactly why. Being treated like a redheaded stepchild by Slive on a yearly basis by his scheduling geniuses, and his Bama biased officials, and because of the flavor of the month Cotton Bowl apes is reason enough.
That ought to capture the honorable SEC commissioner's attention. At least slightly.
Of course, the honor of playing a nothing-to-lose Clemson in the Slab-of-Chicken-Between-Two-Pieces-of-Dry-Crappy-Bread Bowl on a night when no one is watching or gives a damn is something that is a great honor for LSU...just ask the toe-the-bureaucratic-line and official whipping boy of Mike Slive, Joe Alleva.
I say Let USCe or Mississippi State go.
And to hell with the SEC office.
There are times when LSU needs to make a statement. Their football program has been an SEC cash cow for the last 11 years and Slive needs to understand this in short order, the sorry sack of shite. If LSU had a AD of any integrity or balls we would do it.
